Bf 109K Radio?

Recommended Posts

Hi all,

Ive been going through a few campaign missions for the 109 and am struggling to work out how to use the Radio? On the recon mission, after you have wizzed past the AF you have to call up another AF to ask for directions, I think. I tried the # key to bring up the menu but that doesn't work. Ive scoured the forums and the net (You tube) but Radio/Navigation tutorials on the early birds seem to be few and far between. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

...Guy

I usually dig deep and exhaust a search listing. Also check the Images listings' links.

The DCS Bf-109 Flight Manual documentation (.pdf) is found here:

Many thx, for the info. I had the easy radio comms set and that didn't let you talk to the tower. You had to have it realistic. Doh!

I couldn't get the AFN homing indicator working though. Not that I needed it but is it activated in the 109 or Dora?

I have seen the AFN-2 NDB receiver work on one of the WWII MP servers, either the 109 or 190. I think it is up to the server admin to setup the radio stations in game in the Mission Editor. I think anybody can set the AFN-2 using the Mission Editor creating a mission. I am looking to see how this is done; I am not much into the Mission Editor.

I searched for AFN-2 on the Fw-190 forum and it showed 12 threads, 3 are below:

See Message #9, #14 and read on

Question exists concerning to/from beacon:

Thx for the research DieHard. I too am not much into the mission editor. Perhaps we should try to arrange a TeamSpeak meet up with other noobs (Im a noob btw) then that way we canpool what little knowledge we know and turn it into something more lol,

P.S I can do a basic mission but not sure how to add others too it.

Radios in DCS are hit or miss. One day they work fine, and the next the tower will not respond (even though it is the exact same mission).

But having a different key for the mic and comms menu is unnecessary complication, in my opinion. It is supposed to be an extra level of simulation when you have easy-comms turned off, but the only difference ends up being which keys you press on the keyboard.
