I dont think you can completely shut off chat, I think you can slow it down so people can only post ever 2 minutes, but I am not sure what else you can do, this is the test run this Sunday :)

 

Edit: Actually I did find an option to pretty much shut off chat. Have to ask Matt about that, I would rather just have everyone behave ;)

Like some I have my concerns about progress, but I have nothing but respect for Matt and accept things as they are. I will sit back quietly, learn, enjoy and drool, but it being Father's Day it may be a bit of a conflict. I think my two girls have plans for me. :)

Streams can be archived by twitch or the broadcast software can save a separate MP4 which can be uploaded later to another site (ie Youtube)

You should be able to enable moderation mode which a user has to approve/disapprove messages

Exactly... its just an option if things get carried away.

yes you can disable chat.

During the 1st preview of KSP 1.0, when there was something important they were locking ALL chat except for mods

btw: How about creating a countdown for the live stream ? With it everyone will see how much time is left and spare us the timezone calculations ? And just put the countdown link to the event announcement in the first post so everyone can see it.

While much of the team has been hard at work on getting DCS World 2 ready, our map team and engineers have been busy improving the NTTR map and fixing bugs. While we have made the significant step of moving the map into full testing, there are several important areas that need to be addressed before we can release it as an open alpha to everyone. Some of these items include:

Functional Air Traffic Control

Ground unit road movement

Performance improvements

Static object issues

TACAN and ILS

A couple of crash situations
