ZeteticApparatchik Posted June 21, 2015 Posted June 21, 2015 I'm currently trying to use my Xbox 360 controller in DCS World (Boo! Hiss!) and I'm having a little trouble finding a sensible approach to setting throttle or collective. Currently, I'm mapping an axis, specifically the triggers, directly to the throttle or collective axis. Holding down neither trigger leaves the throttle at 50%, holding down the left fully reduces it to ~0% and holding the right fully increases it to ~100% (and I can hold the throttle anywhere in between). That's a bit fiddly and means that keeping the throttle anywhere other than 50% means holding my hands rather uncomfortably (at the same time as not jogging the stick or the rudder). I know there are several things I could do - map buttons to throttle increase/decrease (which works okay), buy a proper controller (on my list...) - but I was wondering if it's possible to map a controller axis to change in control. I mean by this: if I pull the left trigger slightly, it will slowly decrease the throttle, while if I pull it all the way back that it will quickly decrease the throttle. This way, I'd still have reasonable analogue control over throttle, at the expense of any physical feedback on the throttle position. (Broadly, it's an improvement on using buttons to control the throttle I suppose.) Is there any way that I can easily achieve this? (Or with some difficulty! I'm not averse to having a go at scripting this with Lua if that's a possibility.) Apologies if I'm posting this in the wrong bit of the forum, or if I've missed an obvious page in the Wiki, another thread, or something in the DCS World UI.
