Mouse button assignments are erratic

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I've a fresh install of DCS UH-1H and I can't seem to assign any action to mouse buttons, except a few rare ones.

I was trying to assign zoom in and out to mouse buttons 3 & 4, since this mouse has grown extra buttons ;)

As seen in the attachment 1, I can assign those actions to the Hotas throttle, the menu buttons for adding, deleting, or default are active. But when I select the mouse column they become greyed-out.

Some of the controls can be assigned though, but most of them cannot be assigned to mouse category (and TrackIR, but that would be understandable).

I have tried to clear the category, to delete the user folder (%USERPROFILE%\Saved Games\DCS), but that didn't solve the problem. It's the same whether it's the UH-1H or default theme, or that I open the options in the main menu or in the game.

Here's my config:

Windows 7 x64

DCS 1.2.16.39472, UH-1H module 1.2.16

Hotas Warthog joystick and throttle

Saitek rudder pedals

TrackIR

Can anyone help me with this bug? I looked here and elsewhere but couldn't find any other solution than removing the user settings, which doesn't solve the problem here.

Thanks in advance :)

It is not a bug. It is the way ED designed the game.

I see, though designing such inconsistency would qualify as bug to me ;)

As a work-around I have mapped that to another switch, I'll see with their support if that's something they plan to solve. In the mean time I've seen people using external program with macros to map the mouse buttons to something else, but it's so awkward.
