Speed Link Joystick Crash

Recommended Posts

Hi there, I just got DCS on steam with the F15C addon and I can't setup my Speedlink Phantom Hawk joystick. Every time I click on the controls tab the game crashes. If i disconnect the stick I can edit the controls with no problems. Can anyone help me with this? I have like 14 days to get my money back for the F15C addon on steam.

Did you use the install disk that came with your stick? Looks like you may have to install the drivers:

Also found same issues below from the OEM forum from users with similar problems. I could not jump into them because that website is blocked by my computer.

Hope that leads you somewhere helpful until the guys in this forum with much more knowledge get to this question.

take a look here, and in particular post 3 http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=88164

Install both the x86 + x64 versions on a 64bit OS.

Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x86): http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downl...s.aspx?id=5555

Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package (x64): http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/downl....aspx?id=14632

Now run Windows Update - updating the C++ may be required. Reboot if required.

Force a reinstall of DirectX. Download DirectX End-User Runtimes (June 2010)

Failed, are you certain that C++ and directX is the problem?

no but does not hurt to try, as these are the more common solutions.

what are your system specs including os, and are you able to test with a different controller?

I have an ASUS x550L laptop, with i5 ~2.3ghz, GEforce 740M, 4GB DDR3, Windows 8.

I'll try another controller and see if it has any success...but it's a joypad.

I did the force feedback thingy...still crashing

All we need now is to modify the game, to add Speedlink Phantom Hawk support :)

Could it be that I'm the first guy to try this joystick with this game? I feel so special!

Ok! I've fixed my own problems :smartass:....apparently the "driver" that they have available for this joystick is just the force feedback driver. I uninstalled it, and now it works just fine with plug & play drivers.

THX for your help!

Clear skies to all, and whoop ass :joystick:
