"Smile Pilots Club" announces a competition - "Autorotation on the KA-50"

 

The purpose of the contest is to identify pilots capable to land Ka-50 helicopter without engines, and to encourage the best one.

 

1. The objective of the contest - to land on autorotation (rotors autorotation mode) Ka-50 helicopter.

 

 

2. Conditions of the competition:

 

2.1 Period of the competition: Until 03:00 GMT 08/31/15

 

2.2 Landing should be performed on "Smile Pilots Club" server.

Full server name:

"Клуб Веселых Пилотов (SPC)";

Server IP address: 78.107.236.81:10308.

Flights on other servers or offline will not be accepted.

 

2.3 Pilot is required to perform the following steps:

- Perform a takeoff on Ka-50 from the Mineralnye Vody airport.

- Climb up to the altitude 900-1200 meters on the HUD display.

- Turn off the engines at altitude not less than 900 meters. Perform autorotation landing as discribed in Flight Manual at Mineralnye Vody airport. The goal is to achieve rotors self-rotation up to a height of 800 meters on the HUD.

 

2.4 Сorrect landing (in terms of contest) does not include:

- Autorotation with one engine running.

- Landing with damage (broken landing gear, blades or other helicopter elements).

- Main rotors speed reduction below 82% in the autorotation mode until final stage of landing (before touching ground).

- Landing outside Mineralnye Vody airport parking.

- Landing with weapons or external fuel tanks.

 

2.5 Pilots are prohibited from using any tweaks, mods or other methods to improve the flight characteristics of the Ka-50.

 

2.6 Participant should provide playable track (*.trk) recording autorotation landing. Video if available.

 

 

3. Applications for participation:

 

3.1 Participate in the competition can any pilot capable to successfully join server (integrity check on server is ON).

 

3.2 The application must contain:

- Your nickname at the time of performing an autorotation landing.

- The date in the format DD-MM-YY when you performed an autorotation landing.

- Link to the track file (*.trk) with a record of landing with autorotation (link on video - if available).

 

3.3 We shall consider only one application from one pilot and only one track (*.trk). We recommend not to hurry and try a few times and a couple of different options. And after this, select the best result.

 

3.4 Application for the competition should be posted in this topic.

 

 

4. WINNER SELECTION AND COMPETITION PRIZE.

 

4.1 The winner will be only one pilot who perform autorotation landing on Ka-50 with the lowest distance rolled on parking lot with requirements above.

 

4.2 The winner gets a prize: a new module "DCS: L-39 Albatros", access to which is expected in September.

Is there a trick to this competition that I just don't see, or why are there no entries so far ?

 

Anyhow, here is mine, hope I meet all the requirements:

As for competition - time is up. We will announce Winner on our stream with developers on September 12th (Sorry, but it will be russian-speaking stream) and also post results here.
