Canopy auto jettison

Been flying the mig since yesterday and I am now familiar with the start up procedures and I can navigate with the arc radio and fly quite confidently. I did however get a little over zealous with my speed earlier today and got the initiated roll that occurs at max speed at higher altitude. I recovered from that but in the process my canopy jettisoned itself without any input. Could this be because I exceeded the g limits?
