IceBurner
Congratulations to the entire team of DCS on all your hard work and effort in delivering to us such a continually amazing Flight Simulation Platform. MasaIV
I apologize if this has been covered already. I have tried to stay up-to-date on this thread and the previous thread. With the imminent release of the 1.5 open beta and how hard the team has been working to get it out to us (not just in these last hours, but for months/years), I'm sure there are more than a few that would love the opportunity to give something back. The first thing I'm sure we can all do is at least forgive whatever bugs we encounter (after all, it is an open beta, and we all have the option of continuing to use 1.2). My question is, for the bugs that we do encounter, would it be helpful for us to report them (and the specific circumstances under which they occur)? And if so, how do we best go about reporting them? I understand that there are already testers, and what we get has already been through some testing. So, would our reporting of bugs be redundant (since they may very well be known bugs that have just not been fixed yet)? I would imagine that a bunch of people telling the developers about problems they already know about is not helpful. But if it is the case that the developers would be able to use the information we provide, I'm sure some of us would love to help. I can't wait to fly in 1.5 (and blame every botched landing and mistake I make on a bug, yeah, definitely a bug, not my fault)!

FeistyLemur
Actually he has spoken quite a bit about it. It's not a 3d scaling option at all. At a certain distance where the object would be below a few pixels it is replaced (or rather superimposed with) by a larger 2d representation (sprite) which allows us to see objects up to similar distances to how we would see them in the real sky. From what Ive seen of it in the streams it looks very good. As I understand it each 3d object will have these representations and we will have three options, Off, Normal, Enlarged. Oh and it should work for ground units too :) I've tried doing some searches for video examples of the new spotting like you mention but have not had much luck. Are there any recommended video links that show this?

cichlidfan
I thought they said they'd release it with out DRM. Is steam being EA? DCS on Steam has always used the same DRM as the non-Steam version. That is unlikely to change. ody81
LMAO, it's 2015 and Starforce is still trouble. More for the developers than the end-users these days though. And for a free update for the free part of DCS too, that's gotta hurt.

ED Team NineLine Posted October 1, 2015 Author ED Team Share Posted October 1, 2015 (edited) Ey, i have a question about effect in 1.5. Simple, in 1.5 we have new or older effect? :) What effect, some effects are done and will be in 1.5, some are still WIP and might not be. Please read the FAQ before asking: Will _______ effect be added/improved in 1.5? Most if not all effects will be redone to take advantage of Dx11, but its a huge undertaking and as effects are added they need to be tested and tweaked. Your favorite effect may not make it into the initial 1.5 Beta, but that doesn't mean its forgotten or left out.
