2.6.2.25 should be better. cancel and restart, please.

it will go http if torrents are cancelled, but please give it 2-3 minutes and report how it goes.

thanks

btw, 2.6.2.25 will squeeze the most of the partially downloaded torrents so it makes sense to try even if you go http then.

Any way to limit the upload speed of the new updater? Having a slow internet connection is even worse when it's currently uploading @ 65kbps. It's hogging a large portion of my potential download speed.

no user settings yet. most links afaik are full-duplex so your uploads do not hog the downloads.

This "forced torent" development is a bit troubling. I have 5 gb dowload with my provider so really don't need torent. When you force http dowload you now only get .6 mb/s now when in the past I aways got at least 3.5

Cancelled the old torrent download and then updated the installer to the new client. Torrents now coming down faster now at about 1MB/s with 120+ peers. Much better than the previous update.

Its Open Beta guys, how else can they test things like this, besides, its not 'forced'.

Try restarting if you havent already. See message from c0ff above.

Did as you said but as I said nowhere near the speed I usually get, seems throttled to me

C0ff - some data points on the new updater so far, hope they are useful.

Western Canada: 100 mbps connection.

Torrent: 193 peers, 90 KB/s up, 1.3 MB/s down.

HTTP method: 0.6 MB/s down, looks throttled at source.

Remember guys, the more people in the torrent swarm the faster for us all. Plus, BitTorrent as a protocol tends to 'ramp up' as you get more data to share, so you may see slow speeds at the beginning but it'll increase over time. If you cancel the torrent (boo! :) then you get a dialog asking if you want to continue using the HTTP method.

Thanks, switched to HTTP download...what is 100x times faster than torrent

Good Job C0ff :matrix:

May the THRUST be with you

What does this mean exactly?

Best way to explain is probably with a video.

In DCS open beta you can clearly see z-fighting when you are looking at the contrail of a twin engine fighter. The two contrails are flickering, or fighting each other.

Fearless Frog: you had the same general number as me....I concur that the HTTP appears to be throttled at source
