I expect a new FLIR system. Dedicated server app.

And all the triggers in the mission editor just working as they should. :joystick:

Hopefully we get a stable merged version this year. I don't believe it to be honest.:(

Hormuz with F-18C integrated to 2.3 version would be acceptable too. :)

But to be honest the current state is really painfull for me and I would really appreciate the 2.5 as soon as possible. Separate settings, controller setups, module installations and the multiplayer server hunt is just bad.

Do, or do not, there is no try.

there will be no 2.3,

I know...

Which does not mean that It would not be "nice" to have F-18 with Hormuz if they will not be able to manage the 2.5 in reasonable time. :music_whistling:

1.5, 1.5 early access and 2.0 early access

Hi people, I'm a bit confused and while I did search for an answer through google and forums I couldn't find any definitive answer.

On http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/downloads/world/ there are three downloads;

I know the difference between 1.5 and 2.0; but what exactly is the difference between 1.5 and 1.5 early access / open beta? They seem to have different installers for the same version of the sim; are they different somehow?

1.5 release is the stable public version

1.5 early access is a public testing build, generally patches get released here first for testing before going to the stable version

2.0 is for public testing of the NTTR terrain

Early Access means Open Beta(1.5), or Open Alpha (2.0). They are just testing versions, they use the open beta/alpha to fix the bugs, people use the beta/alpha, then they report them (bugs) on the forum.

At the moment we have, the Open Alpha, which is the DCS World 2.0.2.52658.72, the Open Beta, 1.5.3.53279.80 and the STABLE version 1.5.3.53279.80.

About performance difference between 1.5 and 2.0.

1.5 has been lately performing much worse than 2.0, especially with Rift CV1. Graphics settings for both are the same: Everything highest setting, apart from Visib Range, which is Ultra. No Lens effects or DOF.

For example, comparing the M2000-C instant action missions Caucasus Missile Combat in 1.5 and Constant Peg II 2.0:

In 2.0 the frame rate drops at worst around 45, which is still playable with ATW, and is usually around 80-90, which means that lowerign settings I can easily use 2.0x "supersampling" (

).

In 1.5 the frame rate is around 20-40 and dropping to 14 at worst.

I'm hoping that is due to some engine / map optimization and not just the inherently more complex nature (more trees, mountains and buildings) of the Caucasus map, but does anyone at ED have any reassuring words about this?

I.e. can I expect improvement on FPS with the Caucasus map when 2.5 will eventually be released?

nah, hope ed boyz could say something about their official module...

and I suggest ED set a price for steam version(5 or 10?), such lots of stupid and impatient ppl download it, play it and give an stupid negative comment, then delete game, because it's FREE TO PLAY and difficulty to play for them, or they just want to test their VR headset but don't want to fly the plane, such moron.

If you set a price, or buy the aircraft module to own the original game(the module is dlc, could not refund), that will be good to everyone. you guys get another income and avoid some moron player.
