Loz
Anyone found the cure for this? I get massive stuttering when in Crossfire with one exception, Instant action Huey in the Hover it's solid as a rock and only occurs when I get going. Happens with or without DOF. Shame because it's otherwise spoiling a greatt FPS increase now that Crossfire works. GPU driver 15.7 Rig in Sig. Edit: Fixed eventually. Some have already discovered thsi but here is a summary. 1. Make sure you are running in Fullscreen mode by pressing LALT (OR RALT) + ENTER. 2. If you can, monitor the performance by using something like MSI Afterburner, to ensure both GPUs are working If they are not it could be that you need to tick the "Enable AMD CrossfireX for applications that have no associated application profile" in the AMD Catalyst Control Center/Gaming/AMD CrossfireX section. 3. And most importantly (as this takes away the mega Stuttering) in DCS World 1.5 Open Beta Options, set MODEL VISIBILITY to OFF. Thanks go to Skatzilla and Pappen for their help (Reps inbound :P) This has been tested with AMD Catalyst Drivers 15.9.1 Beta. DayGlow
Crossfire not working 100% Found an issue with crossfire where my second GPU won't run past idle speed. Even if I use a custom profile and force AFR or 1x1 the second GPU won't go full speed. It stays at 300mhz, which means that it's stuck in 2D mode. DayGlow
I can confirm. Have x2 r9 290X and second GPU is pegged at 300mhz, which means it's stuck in 2D mode, which is a symptom of no crossfire as the second GPU is inactive. You see the same thing in a IDtech game as it doesn't support crossfire. Punisher74
I see that the second GPU switches from 300MHz to 1120Mhz in the preload screen only never in game. where it is needed the most. now that's on all xfire settings Default, AFR, Optimized 1x1. the second GPU never turns on in game. If both GPU's were firing on all cylinders the FPS would be steady at 90FPS or more on High setting with all AA filters on 8x or more. Thanks, Lt. SkateZilla
Make sure you dont have a profile to turn it off set in CCC, Make a profile, use default mode, frame pacing on. boot dcs, set options, load mission. RALT Enter (Not numpad enter). and you'll see your window go from borderless to full screen. At that point depending on power settings 2nd GPU will kick on and FPS will rise. DayGlow
I found the stutter got a lot worse with the Landing Training mission. Could be linked to scripting somehow. (I was using Ralt and it does nothing) On the downside it introduces a stutter every few seconds. There's more to it the second gpu runs in OC mode while loading the flight then turns off OC. Punisher74
Proof if not working in full screen mode. Well it looks like it's not but it is. Just that it is not setting the clock speed. For example. Gpu 1: 1120 mhz Gpu 2: 300 mhz Mem: 1400 MHz Mem: 150 MHz Should be Gpu 1: 1120 mhz Gpu 2: 1120 mhz Mem: 1400 MHz Mem: 1400 MHz Because that's what the settings are. Now I did notice it runs correctly, but it's loading the game into a mission not while you fly. The bug might be that the high performance mode isn't set on the 2nd GPU like for the primary gpu. The second GPU api in the line code must also reference that setting to match the primary GPU. Or the second GPU will end resting desktop mode. Edited October 3, 2015 by raptorsim Thanks, Lt. Juris
Stuttering here as well on my 295x2. Left Alt+Enter does force Crossfire on but it might as well be running at 20fps with the amount of stutter going on. If anyone is also running Elite Dangerous its a very similar scenario for some there. Running win 10 pro 64-bit with latest Catalyst 15.9.1 beta driver. Turning Frame Pacing on or off has no effect. What driver are the rest of you guys running so we can see it its a non-DCS issue.
