[REPORTED]APPCRASH - dx11backend.dll

Jinks

Recommended Posts

Single player, create fast mission, select FC3 aircraft

Crashes at (seemingly) random times. Often right after take off, sometimes before engine startup, sometimes after a few minutes of flying.

Managed to fly the sortie and land once after multiple attempts without having this specific crash. In that case the game locked up without giving a specific error when I pressed the ESC key.

Upgraded to latest video driver from nvidia, no change.

I have the same issue except DCS crashes a few seconds after the screen is showing "DCS 1.5".

Could it be something with the onboard GPU?

I run 3 monitors on the gtx970 and 1 monitor on the onboard Intel HD 4600

Yesterday I had some spare time and set up a second Win7 installation on another HDD with drivers and everything new. This time I didn't get a dx11 error message but "DCS.exe not able to start because of 0xc000001d"

I erased and reinstalled Win7 another 2 times with the same result. Then in my desparation I upgraded the last not working Win7 to Win10.

I had a nice evening flying from Vaziani to Anapa in A-10C enjoying both the beautiful landscape and a bottle of wine :)

Are all the crashes with Faulting module being dx11backend.dll the same issue?

Until somebody say they don't need anymore logs etc. I'm going to keep posting them.

happens to me also, playing hip campaign.

In my case, it occurs when specific mission events are triggered. I reached mission 5 (on alert) without hassle, but this one crashes a lot.

Basically, when these events are fired, there are radio messages, and units being activated/deactivated.

Maybe the cause of this bug can be narrowed somehow by playing with graphics and audio settings and observing possible changes both in the crash occurrence conditions, and in the strings that get displayed in the error messages

turning off shadows does not solve the issue in my case - DCS crashes. Anyway, it is not random, it happens always at the point in which (hip campaign mission 5), the flight leader ("102") talks with the tactical control ("Kastet"), with the latter asking for "any sign of the crew".

So at that point there must be something that causes the bug.
