StJimmy
So I downloaded the 1.5 beta using the OpenBeta Standalone Client and it seemed to have installed/downloaded successfully. However, whenever I run the 1.5 singleplayer or multiplayer exe, the game simply blackscreens and stops responding straight away. I can still hear the menu music in the background when this happens, and the game changes my screen to a lower resolution until I end the process. I have tried updating/repairing using the DCS_updater cmd stuff, I have checked that my drivers are up-to-date and I'm pretty sure my computer meets the minium req's. Have attached my dxdiag and latest dcs.openbeta log.DxDiag.txtLogs.rar

Spetz
Same as Asmod above for accessing the file. I get a black screen when trying to go multiplayer and nothing else. When I do the first start of singleplayer DCS for the day, it goes black for up to a minute, but then loads normal. I figure its probably shaders or something loading. lolwut845
I've made some interesting findings, I can run the game with high or ultra settings everywhere BUT the shadows on "flat only" (every other setting in the shadows make the game crash while loading), right until takeoff. StJimmy
Yeah it looks like I'm experiencing the same situation as lolwut845 and asmod. The .dll files let me get to the main menu, so I downloaded my FC3 module and changed the graphics settings. But when I launch a mission it loads to 100% then hangs there and DCS stops responding. Raven68
Occasional freeze when loading mission I am having problems with the game freezing when I launch a stock SP mission. I can select the mission and go into the mission planner, but when I press start it goes the loading screen and I do not even get a progression bar and the game is frozen there. I have tried the A-10C missions only thus far, but it seems to be an issue with access temp.lua within "C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Local\Temp\DCS.openbeta\" folder. One of the workarounds that seem to allow me to get into the game, but may be flawed is to delete "tempMission.miz" and "temp.mis" files in "C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Local\Temp\DCS.openbeta\" folder before pressing start and that seems to get me into game. TRIAS
I recently had clean reinstall of Win7(2 months ago), updated WIN7 all the way to latest patches. I have all redistributable C++ files (except 2005) DX11 version is installed. Uninstalled 1.2.16 completely (an removed user files completely). Installed 1.5 beta (on disk other then Win7, disk D in my case). Also I have a few games on my PC and all of them start without a problem. I see this thread drifted from "crash on game start" issue to the "crash in mission", but neverthless here is my issue: Unfortunately 1.5 beta gives me black screen (no sound ), changes resolution if I alt+tab while in black screen, and that is about it. First time I installed 1.5 using its installer (a few hours after it became available) - resulted in black screen right after start. Then I downloaded all files from your website (used torrent) and installed it again - black screen. I looked at his thread and downloaded those 4 files and put them where adviced - black screen. No idea what to do next, throwing white towel. My PC is 2500 i5, Asus Motherboard P67, AMD R9290 GPU, sound onboard. Catalyst 15.7 (15.20.1046-150622a-186188C driver) is installed. TRIAS
I updated to latest Catalyst - 15.7.1 DCS just updated itself to latest version. Still no joy, but this time I see splash screen with DCS logo and 1.5 version. I wait, wait, wait and nothing happens. If I go to task manager it shows there as DCS - not responding. At my last effort when Itried to kill process through Task Manager it hung WIN 7 which many would agree is really hard to do. You guys definitely pat yourself far calling it Beta at this point. I give up. Off my hard drive. 2500k i5 (4.3Ghz), r9 290, Win10, MSFFB2

BLOZUP
I have this problem (black screen upon launch, after logo screen). Menu music plays but it's just black. Those were the only settings I changed. 1.5.0.45655 (DCS.exe file properties) Looking at the log file I think I found the problem: === Log opened UTC 2015-10-15 21:19:09 00000.000 INFO VFS: Using 'Saved Games': "C:\Users\nearwood\Saved Games" 00000.001 INFO DCS: DCS/1.5.0.45655 (x86_64; Windows/6.1.7601) 00000.001 INFO DCS: CPU cores: 4, System RAM: 8163 MB 00000.004 INFO EDCORE: (dDispatcher)enterToState_:0 00000.008 INFO Dispatcher: 2015/10/15 17:19 V1508170900 00000.017 INFO INPUT: Device created Keyboard 00000.039 INFO INPUT: Device created Saitek Pro Flight X-55 Rhino Stick {1FE5DBF0-3DB9-11e5-8007-444553540000} 00000.039 INFO INPUT: Joystick created[saitek Pro Flight X-55 Rhino Stick {1FE5DBF0-3DB9-11e5-8007-444553540000}], ForceFeedBack: no 00000.043 INFO INPUT: Device created Saitek Pro Flight X-55 Rhino Throttle {19037810-3DB9-11e5-8005-444553540000} 00000.044 INFO INPUT: Joystick created[saitek Pro Flight X-55 Rhino Throttle {19037810-3DB9-11e5-8005-444553540000}], ForceFeedBack: no 00000.144 INFO SOUND: loaded 1051 sdefs from "sounds\sdef" 00000.187 INFO SOUND: XAudio2: Using device ID:'{0.0.0.00000000}.{f073142b-0c73-4414-a2e5-9471f7a524de}' Name:'Headphones (High Definition Audio Device)', channels: 2 00000.187 INFO SOUND: XAudio2: channel layout: Headphones/Stereo 00000.223 INFO SOUND: Using SSE FTZ/DAZ mode. 00000.464 ERROR VFS: Can't mount './CoreMods/WWII Units/Liveries' to '/textures//liveries/'. 00000.466 ERROR VFS: Can't mount './CoreMods/aircraft/C-101/Textures/Avionics.zip' to '/textures/'. 00000.468 ERROR VFS: Can't mount './CoreMods/aircraft/Hawk/Textures/Avionics' to '/textures/'. 00000.472 INFO SOUND: loaded 10 sdefs from ".\coremods\aircraft\mig-21bis\sounds\sdef" 00000.509 INFO DXRENDERER: Creating Resource "Unicode" of type 5 00000.511 INFO DX11BACKEND: TRUNK renderer init: showShaderError coreCount=1 00000.517 INFO DX11BACKEND: Driver Concurrent Creates - bradboom
My computer never gets past the "DCS" splash screen. It simply fades to white, and I get the "DCS is not responding" error message. Then it closes. I've uninstalled & reinstalled - nothing. I downloaded the 4 dlls on the first page - nothing. I've done the update using the command prompt - nothing...still white screen and not responding. Version 1.2 works just fine. 1.5 was working well until hotfix 2 came out, but now it won't launch at all. I have an AMD A-10 3.8 gig processor, nvidia 7900 graphics card and 8G RAM. If anyone has a clue, I'm open to suggestions, otherwise, I'm going to sit out on the sidelines until another update comes along.
