DAWS Save Mission

Recommended Posts

I was thinking about it more as a feature instead then an issue, cause i used mbot apc dropped units to have Living infantry in the scenery that shouldn't be tracked.

The thing is, helicopters are different from planes. An airplane by it's nature wants to fly, and if not interfered with too strongly by unusual events or by a deliberately incompetent pilot, it will fly. A helicopter does not want to fly. It is maintained in the air by a variety of forces in opposition to each other, and if there is any disturbance in this delicate balance the helicopter stops flying; immediately and disastrously.

last test... nothing. Same results..

I am pretty sure I am doing something wrong.

Have you re-downloaded the test version? not from the first post but from the link I sent you...

Anyway it seems that you're not copying correctly the folders... You simply need to copy and overwrite the content of DAWS Save Mission directory to your DCS Openbeta path, overwriting those files that are duplicates.

To be sure, check that in the main folder you have:

an AMVI directory

a SaveMission subdirectory inside AMVI directory

a mizpath.txt file inside the subdirectory.

EDIT:

I got news that is solved using JGSME.

Got home late but was able to run a couple of test flights and everything looked to be working correctly. The only thing that seemed not to work and it just might be me not understanding it was this option

KeepGroupsRoutes: if set "true", the mod won't delete group routes while saving. That is "false" by default, ‘cause if a group moves, the route will still be the same as at mission start.

I set this option to "false" thinking it would delete all my aircraft routes but they still appeared in the next mission. I think I'm just not understanding th "false" part of the description.

That feature is only for ground Groups, cause in a sequential mission design I strongly wanted to preserve CAP, DCA, Logistic flight routes and also I usually Always need to redo any flight involved in the mission exept for the CAP, DCA, Scripted intercept... etc.

I May clarify it better in the manual :)

Chromium.

I reinstalled the Beta, and it does not work for me. When I put the three folders with JSMGE, i cannot even open a mission, or save it.

see attached file

there are no DAWS entry in the log, and I'm not able to reproduce the issue as I described to you. Last time I see an error, it was about gaining access to a file inside the "AMVI" folder that the mod create. It seems that something go to conflict but I can't track what it could be.

I'll try to update the test build enhancing the log entries even in ED files to try to understand where it hangs, then I'm going to send you this particoular test version.

This is the very best I can do with the info I have... still, there are 2 issues (you an Pikey, but Pikey seems solved for everything but the autosave) over 68 different tests. I'm really courious to understand what is going on.

Here you can see how I installed the JSMGE, and its open in the OPEN BETA. Then, you can see that i put the DAWS folder in the _MODS folder created by JSMGE.

THen I open the DCS and ME. When I try to open an existing mission, the black screen with the HUD apears, and stays forever trying to load the mission....

Preserving the routes for ground units was one of the features I was really wanting so this is great news.

I just ran a quick test and the options for "KeepGroupsRoutes" on my system are reversed.

TRUE - Deletes the routes

FALSE - Preserves the routes

Thanks again for a great mod!!

Next question...

When using MapObjectPersitence: set to "true" it is creating a _deadobjects.csv file like it should.

My question is are we able to have more than one mission going with persistence on?

In the previous version of your mod I thought it generated the csv file using the mission name.

Thanks

Eric

It should work the same way, so you should have more than 1 mission working that way. But you need to insert the sortie name inside the mission, or any mission will overwrite _deadobjects.csv. If you want to create a campaign with "n" mission, you need to be sure that ALL the mission will have the same mission name in the editor.

Please keep in mind that as this is not a really supported features due to the "stupid" way it works and SSE limitations, I tested only once before release.

Thanks for the feedback!

Can I make a suggestion??

Would it be possible to remove aircraft destroyed?? I mean... If I have couple of CAPS defined in the ME... and one is shot down. It would be great to remove that units from the mission.

it could be optional, I understand, some people wants them to be there every mission. But, if I ammaking a campaign, the Air superiority would be that.

What do you think?

already there: you may want to turn "true" the AirUnitTracked variable. check manual ;)
