Ok, then. I have to say this. I'm really Sorry.

THIS is NOT breaking of sound barrier:

And regarding effect on picture (it's really interesting thing, check google for good reading for it) - ED already said that this will be implemented sometimes in a future.

Sorry pal! :)

There's already a proper doppler effect and a sonic boom sound.

You can test the doppler effect by example, using the free camera view (left ctrl + F11)

and "flying" past aircraft wich have engine running...

How come? For me it seems like it.

This is must common aviation delusion I know. And unfortunately this misconception was was widely distributed by press and other minding to think and read.

One one of my birthday I even was presented by friend of mine (who know that I'm aviation geek) with the poster with this exactly F-18 picture and inscription stating "Braking Sound barrier!".

As others said... condensation effects does not mean necessarily the aircraft has gone supersonic "but may indicate localized supersonic flow".

supersonic? doubt it

I believe that there is doppler, but still it doesn't stack sound waves properly at the point, where plane is braking the barrier. Simulation code needs a bit of tweaking imho.
