Eburitus
I'm not best person to solve physical problems, but it would be nice to have proper doppler and booms from breaking sound barrier.:smartass: HEY! Necroscope
I'm 99.9% sure that the thing you think is "breaking sound barrier" and asking for - is NOT related to sound barrier. :) And what do you mean by "doppler"? There is Doppler-effect in game already. Всех убью, один останусь!
Eburitus
http://www.acs.psu.edu/drussell/Demos/doppler/doppler.html This is what I'm asking. HEY! EVERYONE SCATTER! HES FLYING AGAIN!:pilotfly:
Necroscope
http://www.acs.psu.edu/drussell/Demos/doppler/doppler.html This is what I'm asking. Ok, then. I have to say this. I'm really Sorry. THIS is NOT breaking of sound barrier: And regarding effect on picture (it's really interesting thing, check google for good reading for it) - ED already said that this will be implemented sometimes in a future. Sorry pal! :) Edited October 16, 2015 by Necroscope Всех убью, один останусь!
Eburitus
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sound_barrier How come? For me it seems like it. HEY! EVERYONE SCATTER! HES FLYING AGAIN!:pilotfly:
kripzoo
There's already a proper doppler effect and a sonic boom sound. You can test the doppler effect by example, using the free camera view (left ctrl + F11) and "flying" past aircraft wich have engine running... Golo
Yea, like that whooshing sound in F3 view when about 0.9M. That should not exist. I too think sound engine needs some work.
Necroscope
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sound_barrier How come? For me it seems like it. This is must common aviation delusion I know. And unfortunately this misconception was was widely distributed by press and other minding to think and read. One one of my birthday I even was presented by friend of mine (who know that I'm aviation geek) with the poster with this exactly F-18 picture and inscription stating "Braking Sound barrier!". https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prandtl%E2%80%93Glauert_singularity#Reason_for_condensation_clouds https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vapor_cone Всех убью, один останусь! zaelu
As others said... condensation effects does not mean necessarily the aircraft has gone supersonic "but may indicate localized supersonic flow". supersonic? doubt it Some good explanations: and other http://www.boldmethod.com/learn-to-fly/weather/contrails/ Edited October 17, 2015 by zaelu [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] I5 4670k, 32GB, GTX 1070, Thrustmaster TFRP, G940 Throttle extremely modded with Bodnar 0836X and Bu0836A, Warthog Joystick with F-18 grip, Oculus Rift S - Almost all is made from gifts from friends, the most expensive parts at least
Eburitus
I believe that there is doppler, but still it doesn't stack sound waves properly at the point, where plane is braking the barrier. Simulation code needs a bit of tweaking imho. Edited October 18, 2015 by Eburitus HEY! EVERYONE SCATTER! HES FLYING AGAIN!:pilotfly:
