MiG-15 flare any good against missiles?

Just a thought, could you use the flares in the MiG-15 to counter an AIM-9 being fired at you?

I did some testing and they don't seem to help, and my guess is that the signal flares don't burn nearly hot enough. :smartass:

 

Since you guys probably know more, what do you think?

While this might work in the real world I guess the signal flares in DCS are simply not programed to work as a decoy.
