GeForce GTX 960 - Will it do the trick?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I'm in the process of building a new rig and on a Uni-student budget. I could get a beefy card if necessary, like a 390x. But I really don't want to spend that many Euros.

So here is my question:

How does the GTX 960 perform in DCS 1.5? Will I get solid 30+ fps on my 1680x1050 monitor with maxed out settings? Any experience report would be much appreciated!

Thanks in advance and Cheers!

At that low resolution screen the 960 should pair up well. Hopefully those with 960's can provide feedback.

I actually had a gtx960 before upgrading to a gtx980 (for various reasons) but on DCS 1.5 in ran pretty well at 1920x1080 resolutions with high settings (DOF off). If i remember correctly i was averaging about 50ish frames. maybe 40fps was the lowest.

IMO if you're on a budget, a really tight one, the GTX960 does the trick :)

Get the 380. Better card than the 960 at the same (almost) cost.

With my system, I currently run 1.5 with everything on highest settings, except DOF off.

Cockpit displays set to 512 every frame.

With my GTX 970 FTW 4gb ( core at 1460 MHz, ram at 4000 MHz ), I get over 100 fps fairly consistently.

My vram usage hovers between 2.2-2.3 gb.
