Well for me DCS is all about realism and while I would favour a later Flanker like the SM (or even later - on my wishlist is the Su-35, probably the 2 seat UB variant, but no plans have been made and I can't imagine any being made anytime soon). But if later aircraft are developed but some corners have to be cut or a forfeit has to be made and thus compromising realism then IMHO I'd rather have a complete module, which is as realistic as it can be than an incomplete not so realistic one.

I'd love a Su-35 or Mig 1.44 myself with some guesswork on the avionics... but that is me.

I always liked the old sim EF-2000... and I want a realistic flight model and realistic radar model ...things which matter for combat and for the flight experience.

But after that... I'm fine with letting the avionics have some guesswork in them. Of course the exception is in a civil flight sim - there I want systems detail to distract from the relatively peaceful environment.

Personally I'd say Su-27SM or nothing, I wouldn't pay $50 for a slightly upgraded version with no R-77's.

'Slightly upgraded' doesn't even begin to describe the difference between Flaming Cliffs & a DCS level study sim to me, but each to his own.

Would you rather have a fully realistic Su-27S or a "fill in the blanks" su-27sm/ later variant.

Oh! :D Is this a humor thread?

Su-27SM??? So, not worth dreaming about airplane documentation is classified as "secret." ;)

But, Su-27S in DCS has not implemented many features described in the documentation. However, implementation of these features will require too many resources from ED team. :)
