Aerial tanker logic

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know what's the use of:

refueling(refueling) waypoint?

How do you make AI aircrafts to go for the tanker - because they somehow ignore it.

If the tanker logic is set as:

refueling(refueling)->turning(beginloop)->turning(endloop)->land()

all waypoints (except land) are set to altitute 5000, speed 650,

why does the IL tanker sometimes behaves totally irrational while I'm connected to it - keeps slowing down or keeps climbing :mad:

You have to set all the STPTs to "refueling" (well except T/O and landing). If you set any of them to "turning point" then it won't act right until it hits the next "refueling". Hope this helps!

It seems I don't need refueling(refueling) waypoint at all.

I've set AIs flight routes in sucha way that they are extremaly low on fuel near the tanker, and they actually refuel! Tanker was set on a loop.

Also in multiplayer tanker also allows for refuel when he's on a loop - problem is that he pilots like a drunk bastard.

I have one more problem with AIs. Serious one.

It's about S-3 and F-14s.

When there's a pair of F-14s comming for refuel to S-3. After lead plane has refueled wingman just follows him without refueling at all! Of course he crashes minutes later.
