Hoggorm Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 As the topic sais: Is it possible to set that it is for example 25% probability that a unit will appear at the start of the mission? The idea is to force a small change in a given mission every time it is played... One time there will be a Tunguska at a given site. The next time it will not be there, but there will be a Shilka further down the road etc...
Wrecking Crew Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 Sure. Add a Mission Start event, Random Flag 4, Min 1 Max 4. Then base four events on that Flag 4, for values 1-4. WC Visit the Hollo Pointe DCS World server -- an open server with a variety of COOP & H2H missions including Combined Arms. All released missions are available for free download, modification and public hosting, from my Wrecking Crew Projects site.
Sryan Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 there's also a probability slider thats easier to use, but less perfect. You could add a tunguska with 50% and a shilka with 50%. That means there is also a chance both will be there, or neither. with WC's method you're getting 1 guaranteed outcome. Check my F-15C guide
Hoggorm Posted November 7, 2015 Author Posted November 7, 2015 Thank you both! I'm sorry for beeing a noob, but I was not able to set this up in my mission... Sure. Add a Mission Start event, Random Flag 4, Min 1 Max 4. Then base four events on that Flag 4, for values 1-4. WC I only get to Mission Start Event in the trigger setup... Where do I go from here? I do not find a Random Flag item... there's also a probability slider thats easier to use, but less perfect. You could add a tunguska with 50% and a shilka with 50%. That means there is also a chance both will be there, or neither. with WC's method you're getting 1 guaranteed outcome. This could also be very interesting. How do I set this up for lets say a Tunguska..?
Sryan Posted November 7, 2015 Posted November 7, 2015 This could also be very interesting. How do I set this up for lets say a Tunguska..? it's closer than you think ;) maybe just a little hidden. Anyway you're welcome! Check my F-15C guide
Hoggorm Posted November 7, 2015 Author Posted November 7, 2015 Thank you Sryan! I would never have found that! I thought it was the condition of the unit at mission start :)
Sryan Posted November 8, 2015 Posted November 8, 2015 you're welcome and no. In the editor, condition means a rule that must be met in order for an action to take place. Check my F-15C guide
