I think it's not bug. MiG-21's (and the F-104 too) problem at high speed, that's called "own spin". It's a very dangerous flight situation, when u make a very fast roll (more than 90 degrees in a moment). In real life, the only possible solution (if you have altitude) is the using of pedals... Don't know should it be there or not, but wouldn't describe that roll which we can see on video as "fast roll". It's kinda subtle if you ask from me. If you look closely you can see that the pilot loses consciousness from the beginning of the roll and never gains it back, there is nothing what you can do to recovery. I even tryed to have a automatic recovery on, but since at somepoint engine will flameout, it won't work. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] http://dcsfinland.fi Suomalainen DCS Yhteisö

theropod 发布于2015年12月12日 发布于2015年12月12日 the critical aoa effect still feels like rebounding on a surface with current update . if the developers hadnt change that behaviour than, is that behaviour normal?

I just noticed that the stall performance seems to be better, was it recently updated? I didn't remember a patch since 1.5.2, but it no longer gets stuck at 36 deg alpha. Now, if I drop the stick the nose follows and the alpha decreases, even if the aircraft has been stalled for >10 sec. Also, sustained stalls seem to cause more "roll off" than before (?). Anyway, seems like the performance has been fixed and I like this behavior better - "feels" more realistic. -Nick
This appeared a few updates ago, if I recall correctly with 1.5. It doesn't feel natural. Funnily, if you switch ARU to manual and set it's speed setting to minimum (essentially disable control system limitation according to speed), then this behaviour mostly disappear even if you push angle of attack a lot. Wishlist: F-4E Block 53 +, MiG-27K, Su-17M3 or M4, AH-1F or W circa 80s or early 90s, J35 Draken, Kfir C7, Mirage III/V DCS-Dismounts Script
BlackLion213 发布于2016年1月12日 发布于2016年1月12日 there is still same rebound motion at high AoA:music_whistling: I was referring to the aircraft getting "stuck" at high AOA and needing forward stick for the AOA to decrease. That is gone. The rebound motion is still there, but are we sure that's a bug? Has Novak commented on that? Funnily, if you switch ARU to manual and set it's speed setting to minimum (essentially disable control system limitation according to speed), then this behaviour mostly disappear even if you push angle of attack a lot. Thats interesting and leads me to wonder if that rebound is an interaction between the rapid pitch-up and function of the ARU. Perhaps it isn't a bug, but a real response of the ARU in response to these rapid pitch moments? -Nick
Just noticed this thread. I completely agree that the behavior of the ingame aircraft getting stuck at around 35 deg AoA once stalled but otherwise remaining completely stable in roll is quite unrealistic and I hope it gets solved at one point.
Does anyone know when they fix this? Becouse of this bug I stopped flying Mig-21 :(
This high AoA behavior looks definitely weird to me too... [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
theropod 发布于2016年2月28日 发布于2016年2月28日 that was reported long ago but nothing fixed yet, same rebeound motion still happens at high aoa. it feels like surface reaction which causes rebound oscillation, i dont know is it true or false but feels weird to me.
So if they cant or dont know how to repair that issue, I'm starting to worry about how they going to implement variable geometry wing aircraft flight model where it changes with wings angle? It seems to be much complicated than Mig-21 flight model.
