How to get NTTR working?

Hi Folks,

I have the old DCS world, the Blackshark 2, the Huey and the A10C module.

I have DL'ed the DCS World 2 Alpha and that runs but it says no terrain and shows no modules installed. If I go to the module manager and go to buy (when logged in) it says in the shop that I already have the Huey and A10C module.

It doesn't recognise that I have the KA50 BS2 upgrade.

However this was probably bought through another account from ED...

That has always confused me, I do have the serial keys for all my modules noted down.

I haven't bought the scenery yet but I will if I can be sure to get all my old modules installed without too much grief.

So how do I go about using my old modules with the new scenery and getting it all to work? :joystick:

Sorry if this has been asked a million times already, I have had bit of a search through the forum but so far haven't found the info I am looking for.

Thank you

DCS 2.0 only comes with the NTTR so there's no point using it if you don't buy the new terrain.

NONE of the previously bought modules will show up under the installed tab in the module manager, that's for already installed modules.

To download your module you need to be connected with the account with which you bought them on the DCS shop.

In the module manager they should appear under the module tab and you should be able to install them from there.

If you have several accounts, you need to bind all your modules to one single account. To do so, log into the shop and click on profile (upper right). You will see a list with your modules. Cllick "details" and retrieve your activation key. Enter that key under the "license check" (on the left) and click check. You should see something like "bind to another account" with the possibility to enter another account name.

ummmmm, ok, perhaps I used the wrong terminology NTTR. What I mean is the new Nevada scenery.

I will have more of a look at my account(s) later on today and see if I can combine all my modules or whatever.

NTTR is Nevada. You need to own the map, and have a valid serial key for the map, if you wish to fly with any module in DCS World 2.0. Currently only NTTR/Nevada is supported in 2.0.

Yes, OK I get that I need to buy it, I am just reluctant to click the button until I have a clear idea about what's involved getting my old modules all installed and sorting my two account thing.

Actually, I have just started getting into the A10. I sort of gave up with it ages ago as I couldn't work it :-)

When I get the new Nevada scenery and DCS world 2 and all my modules working. I guess I will not need to have DCS world 1 installed any more will I?

I used to do multi-player flying the KA50 a lot but haven't done this for AGES.

I guess what I might loose is the training missions and the pre-made missions I have with the old DCS world right?

Yes you will be able to download and install them. However you will not be able to use them without the Nevada/NTTR terrain map.

If I go to install the Black shark 2 upgrade it says I need Black Shark 1 installed and activated??

So I dunno about that one.

Another thing, I am getting very low on disk space as I have an SSD, so in order to have DCS2.0 installed I will probably need to UN-install DSC1.

How will this affect things?

I had a two account problem. For some reason I'd set up and purchased using two different accounts with ED and ended up with serials that wouldn't all work at the same time in World.

An email to support resulted in the accounts being merged. Very quick, polite and helpful response.

You can run just 2.0 on your machine as it is a complete install. However, be aware that you cannot run the Caucasus map in 2.0 as ED need to do some work on it to make it compatible with the new graphics engine.

Nothing stopping you from keeping it on a slower hard drive, and to free up some room on the SSD.

I own A-10C, I was under the impression that NTTR would be free if you owned A-10C. However, the A-10C module doesn't show up in the game, and I have no key to activate the NTTR with...

NTTR is free for those that purchased the A-10C while it was in beta (before Feb. 21, 2011). Otherwise you will need to purchase a key.
