I'd actually prefer to fight in A6M5 a Hellcat rather than Corsair. A lot closer in terms of performance than the latter one :pilotfly:

I wonder if DCS could possibly support torpedoes?

I wish. A P-3 Orion or a SH-60 Sea Hawk, armed with Torepods to hunt some subs would be awesome. But that would require a sonar simulation as well.

I was thinking about attacking Japanese flattops in a TBM or such with the F-4 escorting me.

I was thinking about attacking Japanese flattops in a SBD or such with the F-4 escorting me.

Fixed that for you :music_whistling::smilewink:

In all seriousness though, after the Corsair, if we got a Zero, then TBF/SBD, Val/Kate and a Pacific Map (I think Solomon Islands offer best land sea mix) we'd be in some serious business. One can dream.

I believe that for so many reasons - play balance, interesting terrain and historical time period - that the Solomon Islands would be the perfect area to map for a Pacific Theater, especially for the F4U-1D. Can't wait to give Magnitude my money!! :thumbup:

I would buy every WWII Pacific theater plane and Map. Nothing touches WWII in the Pacific for Carrier Ops. Of course I grew up watching Black Sheep Squadron (VMF-214), so the Powerful F4U Corsair has always been a favorite!
