Are the missiles supposed to bleed speed this quickly? =P.

 

The missile accelerates well but the second the thruster cuts out it slams into a brick wall.

 

Example i launch a Super 530D at 25K feet at 0 degree pitch.

 

No target since i wanted to to fly straight to get a good reading of speed bleed.

 

when the thruster cuts out its traveling at about 1800 Knots.

 

within 5 seconds of the thrusters cutting out its down to 1300 knots,

 

after 10 seconds its down to 1000 knots.

 

after 15 its 800

 

at 20 the missile is down to 600 knots and is pretty much dead.

 

and at low level its much quicker.

 

Is it just me or does this feel ALOT quicker then with most other missiles?

 

And the magic is even faster.

 

same alt and again 0 degree pitch.

 

1700 knots when thruster cuts out.

 

after 5 seconds its down to 750...

 

and after 10 its 500 knots.

 

this makes it completley useless against running targets even at ranges down to a mile or 2.

 

I understand this is a beta and im not complaining i just want to bring it to the attention of devs etc =P.

 

Since i feel like the speed loss is alot faster then it should be =P.

 

But im very happy with this module so far and im really looking forward to what it will become given some time =).

Isn't this a long-standing complaint with AFM AAMs in general around here?

Can confirm, the 530D is quite frankly not useable right now, and the Magic II works reasonable well. I did not test it enough though.

 

I actually think the Magic is not alot better off unless ur in gunrange =P.

 

Since it bleeds speed so much faster it will run out of speed against a manuvering target at anything beyond 1 mile (even if they are not running away)
