Slipp Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 CCIP mode for Snake Eyes and Rockeyes is completely inaccurate. Bombs overshoot the target regularly by a lot. If necessary I can provide videos.
QuiGon Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 I can confirm this. I just did a couple of bombing runs using the MK.20 Rockeyes and they impact far behind the CCIP-pipper. AJaromir Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 I can't I always hitted the target that I was targeting. Did you shoot them from the right altitude? It is low alt bomb.
mvsgas Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 For CCIP bombing you MUST move the seat up. (please see the manual for the key). The piper is below the nose and usually cannot be seen unless you are in a steep dive, but if you move the seat up it will become visible. Also, for the time being, use the radar altimeter for ranging. The radar ranging (TAS) seems to be having problems. For radar altimeter ranging, click on the radar altimeter and click on the RS button (the one next to TAS) in the armament panel. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=156596 To whom it may concern, I am an idiot, unfortunately for the world, I have a internet connection and a fondness for beer....apologies for that. Thank you for you patience. Many people don't want the truth, they want constant reassurance that whatever misconception/fallacies they believe in are true..
DocSigma Posted December 28, 2015 Posted December 28, 2015 It is low alt bomb. What he said. Enable radar ranging, and you have to get very low - right on top of your target at a fairly steep dive angle - before you pickle off your bombs. Also, since CCIP isn't the most accurate method I always ripple my bombs in pairs with about 30 - 40meter spacing to ensure at least one will impact my target. Slipp Posted December 28, 2015 Author Posted December 28, 2015 So the bombs are missing like crazy because TAS is bugged? So we have to use radar altimeter ranging in the mean time. Gotcha.
