The DCS Updater / Launcher GUI Utility Version 2.0 (2023+)

Recommended Posts

since last version DCS Updater is unable to sse when i close DCS, i had to restart it to be able to relaunch my Sim.

Any clues?

Windows 10 sometimes does not close the process, but suspends it, which the app continues to see as running as it's in the process list still.

This AFAIK, is a Windows 10 setting somewhere.

Hi Skatezilla, thanks for all the work on your fine app.

Part of my interest in it is to use it to auto-start TrackIR and SRS. TrackIR seems to work fine, but I'm getting exception errors with SRS, stating that it's unable to find the file. I've correctly located the directory. TS3 and Tacview also works fine after locating the directory.

I've noticed that the check box/radio button doesn't seem to be sticky for SRS, which makes me think maybe it's failing to save config info? I've tried combinations of running your updater and SRS as administrator just in case it's a UAC issue.

Also, and this is totally a minor issue, the tooltips for Tacview and SRS are both incorrect (they refer to TrackIR).

Thanks for any help you can give me

Fixed in next build

The ToolTips as well as a code error that replaced / changed the SRS Launch Path resulting in the exception error.

I am having a crash when attempting to launch DCS as well.

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

Bizarrely, my Utility has started taking about 2 minutes to load - about 1'55" longer than normal!

Any ideas?

Crazy! This just started happening to me too. I play DCS virtually every day, and all of a sudden the Utility takes a long time to load. I didn't change anything. Maybe it was the latest .NET update?

Well, same thing for me just now. Played yesterday (literally 8-10 hours ago), worked flawlessly.

Today I turn it on and bam, frozen for a while. No windows update was installed AFAIK...

Write it like a Batch.

The App will save contents of text box as a .bat,

Then process the startup routine, executing the batch script first, pausing for 10 seconds then launching DCS.exe as normal.
