Oh boy, tonight for me was the worst lag I've ever experienced in DCS. I got disconnected twice in the air, then killed myself once by stupidity, and this is how I lost my last live. i was getting seriously claustrophobic, and I have absolutely no explanation what was going on:

I was chasing an F15 about to get a solution when this happened. I had absolutely no more control about the plane.

Edit: I got no idea why the video doesnt work, heres the link: https://youtu.be/w48wF8IRvtw

Camarad! that is a new technology we are implementing... compressability that make you small with no CRS...

Then you have to hear people yesterday saying that the problem of warping was caused by a guy with high ping.....

You took airframe with prototype FOLDING SPACE ENGINES, FSB already driving to your house now...

But me on the other hand, I don't want to go against him on BLUE flag. BLUE side already has 104th, plaiskool, viking, ciribob ... (specially didn't include sweeper for trolling).

If Bart wants to eat 73s all day that's his choice. :D

Plus we have Zer01.

This is one of the weirdest bugs I have experienced in dcs ever in this mission.

Same here. Almost everyone on the blue ts had this problem. Funny thing though: Red managed to take one airbase and one farp during this period. Good job server, good job.

ahh at least I'm not the only one with that problem.

Oznerol, keep in mind it's not the servers fault, the scripting is not very heavy and the guys spent a lot of effort optimizing it. The code of DCS is just not yet able to handle it without freaking out. I'm positive this will change (hopefully) soon. A lot of things have been improved already in the past 6 months. We'll have to give ED some time. I have to admit though it hurts really bad sometimes, blueflag is just too good, and round 5 is the best blueflag ever!

Several suggestions.....No missiles viewed on forward observer, not realistic all. Make the players get their head out the big window in front of them to defend themselves instead of having GCI tell them a missile is inbound. (i'm guilty of doing this) Another option which might not be available in DCS' current state is to disable zoom in game. Make everyone view everything form normal point of view. I've never seen fighter pilots using binoculars to zoom in and gain tally. If you can find a real pilot with a mechanical eye that zooms in on targets then I'll rescind my recommendation.

Disagree massively on the zoom.

Real fighter pilots are not restricted to 1920*1080p pixels.

Would you take Dan Hampton's word for using binoculars (and he claims that "Several of us had been flying with binoculars" in his book)? Granted, it wasn't for dogfights, obviously, but then again, show me a pilot with such shitty eyesight that the monitor emulates.

And you get insight to what RL pilot likely deals with. How many other aircraft do you see passing by your Delta flight from New York to LA?(If you like window seats) Probably not very many if they aren't creating contrails. But there out there passing you anywhere from 1-2k above and below. Those are large transport aircraft, imagine a fighter sized one nose on. And Dan Hampton was likely using them for a CAS environment in his F-16, completely different mission.

You really can't get it through your thick skull that a monitor is inherently inferior to the human eye, can you? I am not saying spotting aircraft is easy, I am saying that it is a hell of a lot easier than in the game. (the first time I was in the air btw I was gobsmacked by the clarity with which I could see everything as opposed to flight sims)

And yes, it was for spotting ground targets, but you want zoom to get disabled completely, which would disable it for those who would use it in the same way IRL pilots used it in real life circumstances.

Since you like things to be so realistic.

Operation "Blue Flag" - 24/7 PvP Campaign - ROUND 5

It would be great if they could implement (lag permiting) Awacs and J-STARS(in the future) aircraft for the cgi to use to see threats and targets, escorting them and trying to shoot them down would be a nice add on to the game :)

Hey all, something seems changed in the naming of forward observers (ground commander slots) in the mission files after the update.

So when saving to 1.5.3 it broke the ability to choose them. Should be ok in 1 hour by editing the files.

Thanks for your patience and sorry for the delay.

Once again explain how IRL attack pilots use zoom? From the several I know personally it amounts to looking out and using the mk1 eyeball not binos. Can you get that thru your thick skull? I can play that game too. By the way you can see fine without zooming at monitor resolution, you just need to a.look harder or b. know where to look.

A fighter plane at let's say 10km away is going to look on your 1080P monitor 1/4 of a pixel wide thus can't be rendered, so you can look how you want it's not even showing up, that's the problem you come up with monitor vs real life resolution, that's why the zoom is implemented, to compensate for that rendering disadvantage, that plane would need to come to 1 pixel size on a realistic able viewing distance then stay at that size until the size can grow to 2 pixels and so on, having a 250' f-15 that you can see for 30km away is not realistic either and 1 pixel against a blue sky is not that difficult to find if you look properly, over terrain it becomes extremly difficult nearly impossible even with zoom which is very realistic of what the real life spotting would have been. I think the biggest thing missing is metal glint/glare which was probly 90% of the time the reason for the spotting of an enemy plane at a distance
