AG-51_Razor Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 Is there a difference between the "Release version" and the OpenBeta? I have a squad mate that downloaded DCS W 1.5 rather than updating 1.2.6. He noticed that his version is referred to as "Stable Version" and is updated to 1.5.2.49392.141 and my updated OpenBeta is updated to 1.5.3.50355 but nowhere have I ever seen any reference to "Stable version". His game continues to tell him that it is up to date, even after running the updater. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
codefox Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 Here you can see the current DCS versions. The "stable" version is supposed to be a well-working (stable) version for the majority of DCS players. "openbeta"/"openalpha"-versions are meant for the people who want to be on the bleeding edge and search for bugs prior to moving the updates to the "stable" version. Look here for a list of all the DCS versions. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
AG-51_Razor Posted February 19, 2016 Author Posted February 19, 2016 Thank you Codefox. That explains a lot. In the screen shot that my squad mate posted on our forum, the top "stable version" showed a different version number than the "current OpenBeta". Now they are the same. [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC]
