gospadin Posted February 22, 2016 Posted February 22, 2016 Hi. Would you expect speed to increase when I drop the centerline tank? Right now, the plane seems to be capped at mach 1.01 both with and without the center tank. I'd have expected a slight bump in max speed once the tank was gone. Similarly, as weight decreases, shouldn't the plane get a little faster? My liveries, mods, and missions for DCS:World M-2000C English Cockpit | Extra Beacons Mod | Nav Kneeboard | Community A-4E
Ktulu2 Posted February 23, 2016 Posted February 23, 2016 The release of the tank should indeed allow you a higher top speed, so a static cap like that does not make any sense. Less weight means more ACCELERATION, not speed, so it should affect the time to top speed, not the speed itself. I do DCS videos on youtube : https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCAs8VxtXRJHZLnKS4mKunnQ?view_as=public

Actually there is a relationship with weight and speed in terms of aircraft because more weight means more lift more lift requires higher AOA and therefore more drag. Community A-4E-C
