You can close and open the canopy in the Mirage normally with the Cntrl+C keyboard commands. You can open the canopy normally using the mouse button. You cannot close the canopy using mouse button.

You could do this before update to 1.5.3, now you cannot.

Yes you can.

Pull the lock handle back for first stage, then press the little "strut" that holds the canopy open to fully close. Then lock handle forward to lock. :)

Ah...I will try that. Sneaky. Let you know if I succeed. :pilotfly:

I can't close the canopy by mouse clicking the handle from full open position to little open. The rest works. Also Ctrl+C works.

Again, you are in 1.5, right? I think the logic in Nevada is still an older, slightly different version.

You have to press the strut holding up the canopy in order to close it via the mouse. After you do that, you then press handle with left mouse button in order to secure canopy.

Ok I tested more and this is what I noticed:

The handle on the canopy (the moving part of the canopy, the bubble) is a clickable zone but has no influence in any sequence of opening or closing. In 2.0 you move the canopy up or down by that handle (handle you grab with your hand not moving lever).

The strut part with yellow stripes that you can click works OK, you click once the canopy opens a bit,you click again canopy closes.

The lever with red tip has 3 positions:

1. Secured - UP - locks the canopy

2. Unlock and Close(?) - middle - unlocks the canopy but doesn't close it

3. Open - towards back - opens the canopy... ONLY ONCE! then is useless.

If the canopy is electrically/hydraulically actuated that lever position should open or close the canopy all the time isn't it?

If this is the case then the handle on the canopy should either not do anything or should work as a backup, but it doesn't.

The way I do it:

To close:

- Canopy lever => back (DESCENTE) = half open

- Strut => click = closed

- Canopy lever => forward (VERROUILLAGE) = locked

To open:

- Canopy lever => middle = unlocked (OUVERTURE)

- Canopy handle => click = full open

OR

- Canopy lever => middle = unlocked (OUVERTURE)

- Strut => click = half open

- Canopy handle => click = full open

The only little bug I can find is this:

Canopy half open. When I put the lever in the locked position and then click the strut, it becomes inoperable. Even if I pull the lever back to the unlocked position after that the strut remains unclickable. Only the keyboard command gets me out of that situation.

Yeah. If.

But it's not. So it should not. ;)

Got it! It works now as advertised. But if it isn't hydraulically or electrically actuated why is it closing when pulling the lever?

Well there are a couple of possibilities. Maybe there is a lock mechanism that holds the canopy in place when it's open and by pulling back you release that lock. Then the canopy comes down by its own weight - probaby with some dampening (I'm thinking of something like this:

;) )

But I'm just guessing here. Azrayen seems to know more about the real function. :)

You're mostly correct. The canopy is pneumatically assisted (not actuated, an important distinction), a cylinder behind the pilot holds it up until the valve is opened (pulling the lever back), which bleeds the cylinder and lowers the canopy.

Ah, good to know. So it works basically like a simple office chair's seat adjustment. :thumbup:
