27'' Asus PG279Q, 2560x1440 165Hz with G-sync

Since I know you're Polish, one question. Does your family know you're involved in drug trafficking? :D

I bought my display with text clarity in mind so I went for 22" 1920x1080 as this combination provides high pixel density. Now that I'm back with DCS I sure wouldn't mind seeing bigger pixels on a 27" display at 1920x1080.

I took a loan from work to get it, so no drug trafficing was involved:) Two years and I will pay it back- but it was worth it.

I've been using 3x 21.5" 1920x1080 and the detail is very nice, with sharp graphics.

Unfortunately, I just got varifocal lenses in my new glasses, so the side monitors are now just a fuzzy mush and I feel sick very quickly.

So on Wednesday I get a new 27" 1920x1080 delivered. Will be interesting to see the difference.

Enjoy it, man!

I came around to put much more emphasis on the display. Heck, maybe I'll even go for display upgrade only due to how well DCS runs on my old OC-ed FX-6300.

I wonder how Asus does 165Hz with 4ms grey-2-grey when the Asus TN-based predecessor had 1ms grey-2-grey with 144ms ??

20Hz more and IPS is a good thing btw, tho the colors on that TN arent bad for gaming and casual video at all. My son's got an eye on my 980GTX-144Hz combo...and I told him when a new 8Gb card is near I might swop the whole damn 3D subsystem....this 165Hz would then be it, I love this 144Hz over every other component in my rig, it's the single device that smoothes it all out to a very enjoyable level. Gsync rox

I was using old iiyama 26'' 16:10 monitor (it didn't even have LED backlit yet) till now. One thing i can say for sure- 2560x1440 requires a lot of power to run smoothly.

I don't think that 20 Hz is even noticeable. I've bought 279Q instead of 278Q (which is a bit cheaper) mainly because of IPS panel. There are some problems with IPS- there is a slight back bleed, but response time is not one of them. 279Q has even lower imput lag than 278Q IIRC. And of course colors are great.

Take a very long and hard look, in person, at ultra wide monitors. Yes, the wide view is nice but the increase in screen space is only about 1/3 more than a 16/9, while the down side is that it is only about 14" tall.

If I played racing sims, I might think UW would be great. However, since a flight sim is a more three dimensional (in terms of the fact that up and down views are as important as left and right) environment, I feel that you sacrifice far to much vertical view for what little you gain in horizontal view.

Three full HD panels, side-by-side, is a completely different thing and you don't even come close to it with a single UW panel.

EDIT: I play with a single 40" 4k monitor for display and a 22" touch screen below, for Helios. Otherwise I have an Oculus Rift.
