wavn
Take a very long and hard look, in person, at ultra wide monitors. Yes, the wide view is nice but the increase in screen space is only about 1/3 more than a 16/9, while the down side is that it is only about 14" tall. If I played racing sims, I might think UW would be great. However, since a flight sim is a more three dimensional (in terms of the fact that up and down views are as important as left and right) environment, I feel that you sacrifice far to much vertical view for what little you gain in horizontal view. Three full HD panels, side-by-side, is a completely different thing and you don't even come close to it with a single UW panel. EDIT: I play with a single 40" 4k monitor for display and a 22" touch screen below, for Helios. Otherwise I have an Oculus Rift. There, you have a point (with the 40" monitor): I'am still in doubt: buying the 40" (not curved, but bigger overall) or buying the 34" (curved)........... Edit: may I use this topic, to ask some more advices about using the 34" curved or the 40" 4k flat monitor? Icefalcon
25" Acer G257HU 25-Inch WQHD (2560 x 1440) Widescreen Monitor. 2K monitor, not as fancey as the 4K ones, but good enough resolution, got it earlier 2016 for $250. Couldn't afford a 4K, they were still in the $600+ range. Big noticeable difference between the 2K and the 1920x1080 I was using.
cichlidfan
My personal feeling, just from looking at them in stores, is that a curved monitor provides a 'very' limited improvement over a flat panel. For the difference in price I just can't see it as being a viable choice unless cost is not significant to you. This is definitely a case where size does matter, IMHO. Von Esch
3 24" Asus PA248Q's. I really liked the 1920x1200 for the little bit extra real estate and the matte screen. Beautiful color reproduction.
