Hi,

I've tested this several times in 1.5 Beta and it is repeatable.

In NAV mode the direction carat (selected route at the top of the ribbon on the HUD) does not move after the 2nd waypoint. It moves off to the left after the 2nd waypoint and stays there regardless of the waypoint selection after that.

The course deviation indicator level with the flight path marker does move when selecting a waypoint.

However, should I choose to fly direct to the waypoint and not via the deviation indicator, I am unable to do so.

Thanks,

Catseye

Couple of precisions since Feb. 23:

- the HSI index (my second point) is now broken; so "display is KO too" is what we got for the moment; my understanding is that Razbam has the fix done, just needs to roll it out.

- OP mentionned following a route; for this, you need to chase the "little house"; this is realistic; there just seem to be an issue with passing through zero (360) heading, I guess just a bit more maths needed to make a better formula.

Hi Azrayen,

Thanks for the feedback.

My understanding of the "little house" is that it is the course deviation from the programmed waypoint path. Following the "house" compensates to bring you back on to the path if you have either strayed off, or decided to change course to a different waypoint before reaching the one you are on. In that latter case, the "house" indicates the direction to fly to in order to bring you back on a line to get you onto the path pre-selected? The Su-27 has something similar.

As an aside: why does the direction carat on the ribbon show direction to the first two waypoints and then locks itself to the left of the ribbon and will not move after that?

I'm not familiar with the M2000 NAV system, but it just seems to me to work strange at present and I accept this as a WIP.

Looking forward to the next update. It should be a biggee.

Cheers,

Cats . . .

Hi

It's not the same as FC3's Su-27.

The little house shows your course deviation vs direct to (or from) waypoint.

Velocity vector in the house = route DIRECT TO waypoint.

House on its roof = FROM (not yet implemented AFAIK)

To fly to a waypoint at a pre-set heading, my understanding is that you have to use the specific RD (Route Désirée - Desired Course) feature of the INS. And INS is not available yet in DCS.

What you call the "direction carat on the ribbon" is what I called the "triangle in the HUD" in my post linked above.

It's buggy today in DCS. Let's wait for a fix, I don't know what it shows today, I just know it doesn't show anything sensible or realistic. ;)

Thanks again. I more fully understand it now.
