ED Team NineLine Posted March 9, 2017 ED Team Share Posted March 9, 2017 Yes, well ... that is very interesting direction in which it moves, this pricing policy. First we had LockOn the simulation with 8 flyable aircraft, everything else has been a part of this simulation. Then came DCS, FC3 & CA - perfect. DCS free, FC3, modules and CA - pay. Now when came Normandy we have asset pack. If this continues we will soon be forced to buy individual tanks, missile systems, ships, and why should not then and airports, missiles, bombs... And everything will be justified with if you want to - buy, If you don't - don't buy, and of course the possibility of choice. When I think how much money I gave  and we still do not have a stable simulation, works only on two cores, eternal struggle with the FPS, stuttering and freezing. MP is constantly in trouble, dedicated server out of sight etc. Somewhere must be stopped. It seems that for all of us decision time - how to proceed. Stop, this is simply Not true. TWC_SLAG
No DCS 2 Open alpha early access is what you need, once normandy is out you download it in the module manager, if you dont have NTTR you will not need to have it also DCS World 2.0 Early Access "DCS World 2 requires DCS: Nevada Test and Training Range (NTTR) terrain module" Are the operative words, here "terrain module", since Normandy will have its own terrain module? Thanks, TWC_SLAG Win 10 64 bit, 2T Hard Drive, 1T SSD, 500GB SSD, ASUS Prime Z390 MB, Intel i9 9900 Coffee Lake 3.1mhz CPU, ASUS 2070 Super GPU, 32gb DDR4 Ram, Track IR5, 32” Gigabyte curved monitor, TM Warthog HOTAS, CH Pedals, Voice Attack, hp Reverb G2. When Normandy coming to beta, you can install NTTR, Normandy or both on future 2.1 version
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted March 9, 2017 ED Team Share Posted March 9, 2017 (edited) DCS World 2.0 Early Access "DCS World 2 requires DCS: Nevada Test and Training Range (NTTR) terrain module" Are the operative words, here "terrain module", since Normandy will have its own terrain module? Thanks, I am sure they will change the wording once Normandy is released. At the moment you need NTTR to use DCS 2.0 this will obviously change once Normandy is released and yes, terrain module, plug and play through the module manager :) Edited March 9, 2017 by BIGNEWY Forum rules - DCS Crashing? Captain Orso
Who are you to say that... I don't have any WWII pack. And i'm waiting for a while now for the right moment to jump in. If this guy brings his hypothetical WWII dynamic campaign i would buy all the ED DCS WWII modules right away and eat noodles the next month. And i know a "lot" of people who would do the same. (not the noodles doh) Mbot's dynamic campaign if for the Viggen, and aircraft, which first went into use in the 70's. He said he was thinking about using the 40mm Bofors from the Assets Pack, which is a WWII era flak. The 40mm Bofors used after WWII had nothing to do with the WWII Bofors. The main problem about them has your can "force" to 3D AI modellers and / or 3rd parties with like make 3D packs to the starvation and bankrupt. If the only profitable modules has only maps and modules and your 3D AI work can be "denigrate" as not profitable, the 3rd parties can fired 3D AI modellers and not make any 3D AI model. Rising the prizes has not a option, part of the community can attack you by "abusive" prizes release them to the oblivion.

Beamscanner
question Is there any incentive (besides supporting an awesome studio) to buy the assets if I do not intend to build custom WW2 missions, but only wish to join other peoples missions online? edit: can I join games online that have the assets if I do not buy in?
