how to create 5 mip? select 'using existing mip map' and choose '5'?

 

and what's the difference if compared to 'generate mip map' (for this option, how many mip maps would be created)?

afaik the smallest map is 4*4 pixels

*2 and so on

created 09 mipmaps for 1024*1024

created 10 mipmaps for 2048*2048

created 11 mipmaps for 4096*4096

created 12 mipmaps for 8192*8192 - imho

No, you should not use existing Mipmaps.

 

Select generate Mip-maps and you can select 5 from the dropdown.

They were not meant to be apart of the kit.

 

In any case, just take what you want to paint, desaturate it, and apply colors using multiply, or similar

The second search result (on the site we're probably not allowed to mention or link to directly due to EULA-stuff) points to a file named "DCS_LNS_MiG-21Bis_Official-Template.rar". Which sounds pretty official to me.

It does sound official indeed, which doesn't mean it is. That's why I'm here.

Ok, so you want the templates, but you don't want to download them from the only place where they're currently available. Then I can't help you.

 

And for the record, the file mentioned earlier is identical (verified with crc-64) to the .rar that I downloaded from the leatherneck site some time ago. Just saying...

I have to admit I am really good at making skins. and have done for years.

 

BUT this is the first time i have had to muck around with PSD files, so i can simply MAKE a skin for my squad.

 

Why is this one so hard. Couldn't you help the community out and sort these PSD's out for us, after you you did make the module didnt you !

What I’m using is the "OLD" PSD templates. Problem is that, it is little bit messy inside of them and for example for landing gears there no template at all.

 

Result after 1 year of working around is pretty good liveries, but it has its dark side: time spend at PC, improving old/new textures to look better in DCS 2.5, tuning the colors to be most accurate. All this related with tuning Roughmet. For example since Roughmet include red shadow channel, the original texture shadows are not need as much as in DCS 1.5 was.

 

This week I will release refined Czech "2500" livery and brand new "9801" if -Rudel- will not respond to my offer as standard module liveries. (with collecting photographic documentation, all the markings, special fonts, camouflage, realistic colors, Roughmet tuning, ... it take 180 hours per livery.
