Flagrum Posted April 15, 2016 Posted April 15, 2016 If I am not mistaken, the "Pull Up" cue of the HUD depends on an enabled radar altimeter and a set mininmum altitude (switch and rotary at the HUD base). The radar altimeter points downwards and when the aircraft is banked, at some point the radar just doesn't see the ground anymore and can not provide usefull data. In this case, the HUD displays ****** for the radar altitude. Now the strange thing: the "minimum altitude" cue is still shown! For example, if you get below the min. alt. during a turn, the cue still appears. Even if you fly inverted and get below the min. alt, the cue is shown - all that while the HUD still shows *****.
Azrayen Posted April 17, 2016 Posted April 17, 2016 It's normal, the radar can't see the ground and the altitude is infinite then show *****, then the cue appears like if the radar was switched off. ***** is normal, yes. The arrow when inversed is not ;)

nomdeplume Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 The arrow isn't showing for me at all, what did I do wrong? I think you need to set the HUD's altimeter setting to the bottom position on the switch ("AG"?). This is from memory, but IIRC: - top setting shows just barometric altitude - middle setting adds the AGL using the radar altimeter - bottom setting also adds minimum altitude warning. This level can be adjusted by spinning the knob. I think you only got the pull-up warning arrow on the HUD when you have the HUD indication enabled.
Aginor Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Ah, ok. That might be the problem. For some reason I thought the bottom switch position was just for displaying the setting. DCSW weapons cheat sheet speed cheat sheet
