Hi,

I've been running several other modules fine but today I installed the Mirage and it's killing my FPS. Oddly when in paused mode, the movement is smooth. I use FaceTrackNoIR for all modules so I can move my head in paused mode and its fine. But as soon I unpause... bam, the FPS drops to around 1 frame per second and renders it unusable.

Not sure if this is common as I can't find anything similar posted here.:(

Not common, but someone else has reported the same thing.

Check out this thread: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=164504

I think it would probably be helpful for the developers to track down what's happening if they can get more information about the systems it's happening. So if it looks like the same problem you're having, could you post your system configuration, and results from any tests you're able to do.

Duplicate issue

Ok, thanks... I'll post to the original thread and send a video and stats too.

Divadov - I'll attach FaceTrackNoIR profile shortly. It did take me a while to set up to something that was working.

Not easy to see in your video, but is your mirror activated? even with my rig (I5 4690K OC@ 4.3Ghz/16 GB RAM @ 2133Mhz/ GTX 970), i have a huge FPS drop (going from 80/90 to 30/40). Not sure if this is the culprit, but worth the try.

Same problem here. After 2.02 update the Mirage stutters over Las Vegas dusk,

down to 12 FPS , on 2.01 was 50 +

I've tried re-installing again just to see if it made a difference and there's no change. I wonder whether the Mirage has been optimized at all. I've noticed that even in pause I only get 15-16 FPS.

I have no issue so it's not about general optimization (which is fine) but probably related to something specific on your computer.

Now the "game" begins: what specificity and why does it make trouble?

Same problem here. With 2.01 it was OK (40+ FPS over las Vegas dusk)

Now (2.02) (12 FPS over las Vegas dusk).

But slowly but steadily we all know now that 2.01 was much better than 2.02 right?

halfcard, myHelljumper, ac5: I suggest you compare your hardware and/or resident software (OS, security softwares...) to see if you can find a "lead" to where the problem comes from.

It's a long shot but maybe it will help to understand the issue, and that's the first thing to have for a developper to be able to fix it.

myHelljumper, I have the same CPU as you, and no problem. So no need to look into it.

My graphic card is a nVidia, can't tell about yours.

i used to have 6950's in crossfire, you dont mention HOW MUCH RAM YOU HAVE?

Also should check your power settings and get a cooler and overclock the CPU if possible on your seatup.

i'm willing to bet this comes down to 8GB ram and a HDD.

I still have (only) 8GB RAM and a HDD (7200rpm, not a super-fast one).

No problem in 1.5, some freezes from time to time (e.g. loading textures from disc).

I plan to upgrade to 16GB, a SSD and a GTX970(+) from my current GTX760, but that's "for 2.0" more than for 1.5 or the M-2000.

i bet you do, better question is OP playing 1.5.3 stable or 2.0.2 alpha, as the alpha with all they did on this last update seems to be hit or miss with issues.

The hardware and software are the same.

The change is 2.01 to 2.02. There lies the problem.

You will notice at the beginning of the video when the sim is paused your mirrors are not activated and you have good frame rate. When you unpause the mirrors start "mirroring" and the frame rate goes bad. Try disabling mirrors as someone earlier suggested.

I'm running 1.5.3 with a Core i7, SSD and AMD Radeon HD 5770 (1GB) but I also have 6GB triple channel RAM which may be the kicker. I've also clean booted win10 (i e. No additional process such as AV) before trying.

I've tried with Mirrors on and off and it makes no difference. I ran a test with System Monitor and as soon as I unpause the GPU utilization use drops from 99% to 0%. Something's getting stuck or there's a memory allocation error on my AMD.

I'm not saying this will help but 6 gigs is to low for DCS I suggest 10 minimum

Have you tried setting the video config to the lowest on all setting to see what happens? If, on all low settings, you still get this at least you know it something unrelated to video DirectX API. If it is not doing that bug then start increasing one setting at a time to see what setting might be causing it. It might help narrow it down.

A very late update from the OP but after I upgraded to 18Gb RAM the problem persisted. I purchased NTTR too and it runs like a dream in that. So clearly something related to the way Mirage integrates with 1.5 as myHellJumper said.
