I have deleted the missions, because I will not support this game with free content.

The reason is removal of postings here, but of course the prove is removed. so people calling me a liar is no problem to the moderators.

That's the world we live in.

Maybe freedom of speech doesn't mean a lot to people who are not used to it, but to me it means a lot.

Edit: And now they have removed the whole thread. The sheer arrogance...

Hi! Unhappy to hear that, but if you feel better deleting them we will just miss them. But, next time, try to send a ticket directly to the ED page and not to a forum, when you have problem with activations. the public won't help with that kind of problems.

Cheers.

Missions for 2.5

Hi guys I not any good at mission building I have tried some from this post and most are old (like me) and cause my computer to freeze. if any one has missions that will help learn the roll of the Gazelle i.e. convoy escort, lift escort or recon (not blowing things up necessarily) Can you put them here with the influx of newbies to this and in anticipation of the Kiowa learning missions would be great :helpsmilie: Thanks

Morning folks,  I've just finished building a mission based in Georgia - lots of fun & games with the Abkhazians and hopefully the first of a series.

You can find it here

I've just started trying to fly the Gazelle & thought it could be fun to try and create a mission or two that could be flown by it, or the Harrier, as I fly that more regularly.

The Su25 is also available, but in this scenario, the speed & payload of the Harrier makes a substantial difference, so for the whirlybird pilots, a bit of Georgian help also joins in to help balance things - you'll see what I mean - although there's definitely plenty of opportunities to make your mark.

For those who have no idea about the Womble references - they're a bunch of special forces litter pickers from UK children's literature.

An animated TV show documenting their ops was a part of my regular viewing when I was a lad.  I'm sure I often see them out of the window when I'm in my happy place - bobbing along at 450knots, 100'AGL in my lil' Harrier listening to all the interesting whoops & beedles coming from various bits of the aircraft trying to tell me to stay alive.

As far as the Gazelle is concerned, at the moment I'm usually too busy trying not to crash to worry about the wildlife - so I'll be interested to find out how you experienced pilots get on.

Have fun!  I've had a great time building it and it seems to work pretty well, although the legendary DCS stealth tanks that crawl along the underside of bridges can occaisionally confuse things.

Time needed:

A couple of hours should be plenty.

Aircraft flyable:

Gazelle (HOT version)

Harrier (AV8B for you across the pond)

Su25T (just because then you don't have to spend any money to fly the mission.  Not sure it can survive the landing at the end, but it seemed a good idea the other day to include it).

Mods needed:

None.

Any feedback is great, but beware I'm just a simple social science graduate - Don't expect me to do anything complicated, I just like pressing buttons to see what happens.

Evening folks, I've finished the sequel to the first Abkhazian Antics mission, so if you fancy a bit of a fly around Georgia, helping the blue team to disrupt the invaders, see what you think.

As usual, this mission is the most complex I've put together so far - I've added some elements of randomisation so the targets & enemy forces aren't always all in the same place, and I've had a bash with voice messages after a request from someone from the previous mission.

As usual, any feedback is great - let me know what you think & if I change anything for the next mission, I will.

NOOB question: where do you put the MIZ files? Create a folder somewhere as i want my C boot a empty as possible.?

The place where DCS expects the missions is: C:/Users/your-user/Saved Games/DCS or DCS.openbeta/Missions/

You can move the /Saved Games/ folder somewhere else, by using this method:

Hello,

After the recent release of the updated Gazelle, I started to re-learn it after many years of having her on my virtual hangar. I tried first the built-in training but found the cold start mission really basic and incomplete, so rather than complain about it I set to edit my own and take the oportunity to also learn the Gazelle's basic systems in detail. Here is a walkthrough of the result:

I made three versions of the mission: one for Sinai, another for South Atlantic and a third for the free Map of Marianas. They are identical and only differ on some little details. I added them to the existing training menu, like this:

Please, if any of you detects a mistake on my Cold Start Procedure, please let me know to fix it.

Cheers,

Eduardo

I have made a small semi-realistic training mission for the HOT 3 missiles.  You are a Cyprus Air Command Pilot tasked with performing a firepower demonstration at the RAF Akrotiri small arms range.  The mission takes place at dusk, and can be carried out under NVGs or using the ambient twilight.  Duration 30-40 minutes.  No radio comms or needless voice chatter, just perform the task as briefed.

Edit to state the obvious - Syria map required.

Thanks for sharing it, I can't fly the Gazelle at the moment (as it conflicts with the Kneeboard Builder Utility), but saved it to fly at a latter time. May I suggest to store it at User Files, so that it gather more visibility 👍

I proudly present my new mission "Operation Cedar Spear"

Back to the roots - my very first missions were for the Gazelle, time to create something again.

Operation Cedar Spear will bring you to the early phase of the 1982 Civil War in Lebanon. You will fly an ambush in the mountainous terrain of Southern Lebanon in a Syrian SA342L, in an attempt to stop the enemy's advance over the Litani river.

Local civilians spotted an enemy convoy and contacted the Syrian military. Syrian special forces plotted the advance and set up an ambush near a strategically important bridge over the Litani river near Nabative. Armed only with light weapons and some RPGs, the team, callsign “Jabali” [Mountain goat] called for additional fire power from the air.
The low cloud cover will allow Syrian helicopters to operate in relative safety from enemy fighter jets.

Task
You will lead a Gazelle two ship formation out of a FARP near Beirut airport on a routine armed patrol along the coastal highway, waiting for further tasking by high command.
High command will eventually establish contact between SPEAR flight and Jabali.
Your task will be to take out the three heavy M60 main battle tanks in the convoy with HOT3 missiles.
After successfully engaging the tanks, you will fly back to the FARP.

Key features:
* 100+ high quality voice overs
* mission is customizeable to suite beginners and advanced players
* alternative attack routes availabe (easy/hard) which will change the mission
* option to hand over operating NADIR and FM Radio to the virtual copilot
* detailed PDF manual included
* custom kneeboard
* multicrew capable

Thanks to ZedTank for the inspiration!

Enjoy!
