[CLOSED] Slanted side view when using TiR in latest 1.5.4. OB.

Recommended Posts

When looking around in some of the aircraft after updating to latest revision of 1.5.4 open beta, I've noticed that the pilot seems to be suffering from spine injury and is unable to look to the side, keeping the horizon more or less level :D. Instead, the view gets slanted by quite an angle - it seems that virtual head's axis of rotation is tilted forward somewhat.

Stable and OB comparison screenshots below show what the problem is - from MiG-15, where the perpendicular view is tilted about 7 degrees forward, up to L-39, where it tilted whopping ~20 degrees. Of other examples - MiG-21 seems to be unaffected at all (or the change is negligible), while Mi-8 is affected as bad as the L-39.

To make sure my old settings don't affect newest OB, I deleted the input folders, but that didn't help at all. I also made sure all new VR-related settings in special options tab were disabled, as I don't own one. Didn't help either.

Any suggestions on how to solve this issue?

Same here. Noticed when I jumped in the A10C. Nothing with the new gazelle or the mig21.

Reporting same issue with Mirage. Each time I start DCS, my default trackIR views get centered in a weird offset position.

Rolling back again to 1.5.3.52724 as I fly mostly the A10C in Infinity CASCAP mission. I am sure they won't release an hotfix and we will have to wait next friday.

I have the same. After 1.5.4 update TIR for MI-8:

1. The TIR axis for pitch/yaw/roll got reset - x/y/z were fine

2. TIR controls outside view (together with mouse)

3. Head in cockpit does not move horizontally. Don't know how to explain it but it moves in horizontal plane - perpendicular to the vector of the head pitch.

Sorry to say that but this makes TIR in Mi-8 pretty much useless. Hope it will be fixed as a hotfix - this should not wait till next Friday.

Same issue in oculus rift. Causing serious nausea.

I've restarted the game after setting vAngle=0 (was -15...) in "SnapViews.lua":

    [13] = {--default view
       viewAngle = 90.000000,--FOV
       hAngle     = 0.000000,
       vAngle     = 0.000000, ---15.907917,
       x_trans     = 0.000000,
       y_trans     = 0.000000,
       z_trans     = 0.000000,
       rollAngle = 0.000000,
   },

I don't know if this actually solved the problem or it was just a restarting that helped but the head movement in Mi-8 is back to normal for me.

Stil TIR controls the outside view however.

I just tested it with the Mirage 2000c, because I was having the same issues in the Oculus Rift, and it seemed to have fixed it.

I just changed it under DCS World\Mods\aircraft\M-2000C\Views.lua

   [13] = {--default view
                viewAngle    =  65.000000,--FOV
                hAngle         =   0.000000,
                vAngle        =   -0.000000, --"-17.000000"
                x_trans    =   0.000000,
                y_trans    =   0.000000, --"0.010000"
                z_trans    =   0.000000,
                rollAngle    =   0.000000,
           },

The --"-17.000000" & --"0.010000" were my old values. Setting them to 0 seems to have fixed it in the Mirage 2000c at least for me. I'm going to try it in some other aircraft.

Edit: Just did the same thing with the Mi-8MTV2 and it's also now fixed for me.

Also didn't have horizontal and vertical movement with TiR, this time in MiG-21. Turning off "mouse" under VR special options solved the problem. If only we could solve the angled sideview for all planes with one click so easily...

Delete the Snapviews.lua and run repair?

In my case, disabling "mouse" in VR special options (plus remaining two, obviously) brought all head movements in MiG back to normal. There are loads of issues with views in other planes though.

Can confirm editing the Views.lua for the gazelle has fixed the issue I was experiencing with it in the rift.

Similar problem for me. (Will post images of the Hawk shortly)

Hawk - Center point seems to be off / Also moving head forward and backward has no effect now

KkA6O2b.jpg - Default view on a friends server (TIR was completely centered)

A10C - Slants up when you turn your head left or right / Moving forward and backward works

Gazelle - Turning head left and right is fine / Moving head forward and backward has no effect

I don't have such a file either anywhere in SavedGames, or in the Game folder itself. Never used snapviews anyway. The only one with the similar name is the SnapViewsDefault.lua. Is this the one You had in mind?

View broken in multiplayer only. The view in single player seems fine, when goign to a server, no matter if its in a local server or a remote server, the view is offset and TIR has missing axis depending on airframe. Modules affected Mirage (offset right, no side to side or rotate) Hawk unexplainable, Gazelle no TIR roll or zoom in or out. not gone through them all yet.

The F2 view also has lost its centre, so it will point at the skids or off centre too.

Where do the different views come from in MP?
