I own the KA50, FC3 P51 f86 a 10c, I have only been DCSing for about 4 months though. right now my go to if I want a quickie is the F-15 but after that it as to be the A 10.

I would love to start doing some online gaming but after watching some online missions I very much feel like a rookie.

Don't get discouraged by that. We all were rookies once and there are always a lot of rookies out there. They usally just don't put their stuff on youtube. :)

DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!

Primarily I employ the A-10C, recently started on M-2000C, which I find very addicting.

Other than that I occasionally try to get better at the Huey and once in a while I take the MiG-21 for a spin.

The rest; KA-50, L-39, F-86F, FW-190, P-51D, Hawk and F-15 I rarely fly, but once I do it's usually a week at a time.

I feel like rookie even after two years. Joining a squadron helps a lot though. Don't be afraid of multiplayer coop missions. DCS is the most complex game I have played so far and even though you can have quick fun with most modules, the real fun starts when you learn how the on board avionics really work and start to use them in a way they were intended to.

Do, or do not, there is no try.

I’m sure if I jumped on a squadron I would learn a lot. The true allure of this sim is that you probably play co-op with true aviation fans or folks with live experience. Another sim I used to get into years ago was a sim called Steel beasts (if you don’t know it was another “not mainstream” sim that was dedicated to detail, it was like DCS but for tanks armor combat.) but the real value of that sim was the community armor enthusiasts, and true tank guys (I’m a US army M1 Tanker guy). But I would like to jump on a squadron, anyone have any recommendations?

I own everything except the C-101 and Hawk.

I try to spend time in each module, as I enjoy them all, but I find myself mostly in the F-15C, A-10C, and M-2000C.

For the Korean War era, I prefer the Sabre so far. I haven't spent a ton of time in it or the MiG-15, but I've found the Sabre a little more user friendly.

When it comes to WW2 I really enjoy flying the Mustang in any role, but I confess to not having spent enough time in either of the German birds to form a meaningful opinion.

For transport, I have found the Huey more agreeable than the Mi-8 so far, but the Hip is my most recent purchase so the jury is still out.

For attack, the KA-50 leads the pack just for sheer quantity of ordnance and quality of sensors. The Gazelle is a lot of fun though, and certainly a more nimble machine.

I also think Combined Arms is a lot of fun with a group. Lasing bombs for Mirages and talking A-10s on to targets, then watching the mayhem, is quite satisfying.

I own all but the 2 Migs and the Sabre (including pre-purchase of F5E Tiger) but I have only flown a few. I have tried a few flights in the Mi-8 but have yet to learn the Start Up Procedures. I love the Huey and I've spent a fair bit of time in the Black Shark. I have sat in a couple of the jets but never really flown them.

I spent allot of time in the Mustang but got tired of having to relearn things after updates/changes and have never been impressed with it's performance. While I own the 2 WW2 German planes, I have no desire to fly either of them.

While I am looking forward to mastering the Gazelle, recent issues with that and my feelings of the Mustang pretty much have me Not Flying At All ! My desire for flight is in a serious slump to the point that I'm apt to wait a few months before trying again with hope that many issues will be resolved and I can actually enjoy learning and flying again.

I long feared that DCS was going to take on too much and not be able to focus thoroughly on a few really good aircraft sims. It appears to me my fears have come true.

Just one? Two? More?

I own most of them, but am only flying the MI-8 ATM. I just love that big chopper - so versatile and powerful, plus an AMAZING flight model. Top notch! Just wish we'd get a Hind some day... ;)

I'm going to have to disagree with that opinion. The DCS Mustang f.ex. is still lacking a 72" rating, true, but it's a very well-made module regardless. And the Mi-8 is absolutely brilliant too...
