Hello all,

 

Our server in TAW also had the issue of not starting SRS 1.2.8.0 server.exe

 

After updating to .NET 4.6.2 the issue is solved.

So if you have this as well (ONLY ON SERVERS) then do this to fix it ;)

I think you're referring to an SR client issue and the problem above is referring to the 1.2.8 server.exe.

 

I updated the 229th dedicated SR server this morning and ran into the .Net issue. Installed .Net 4.6.2 and server is up and running.

Just tried installing 1.2.8.0. Not working when trying to check audio or trying to connect. The app starts up. Devices are right, enter the IP to the server, snap, gone. Removed Norton, Murdered Defender, running as Admin. Just crashes. Here's the logger output:

All TAW servers is updated to release version 1.2.8.0.

For both of you, does the previous release work ok when you do preview?

 

I updated the audio library to fix a bunch of bugs but maybe it added some new ones. If you can both confirm I can do an update again that rolls back the audio library.

 

To server owners, if I do you'll have to update again... Sorry!

Have you got the same waveout error in the client logs when you connect? Should be the last line.

 

It's very odd as I've tested on realtek motherboard, usb headset and Logitech G930 and it's all ok. Will try to replicate once I'm home

Did you press connect in that log? No error there that I can see (but I am on mobile)

I have the same problem with waveout error on Sound Blaster Tactic3d. When I switch output to integrated soundcard everything works fine. Same thing was happening in 1.2.6

Ok everyone thats having issues - Please try the fix below:

 

Go To Sound Devices -> Playback

 

Right click on the device then properties, then advanced, then set the default format to 48,000Hz DVD Quality

 

SRS outputs at 44,100 which is the default but switching to that solves the issue. It shouldn't affect anything else on the PC as most applications as the sound card to use a different sample rate anyway like I do.

Edit: Weirdly for the Logitech G930 - Either upping to 48,000 or dropping to 32,000hz works. Dont use 32,000 though as the audio quality for other things on the PC will be less good.

Hmm as yours didn't work with the earlier release version and works with your other sound card I think it's a slightly different issue.

For both - please try reinstalling .net from here https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=53344 as someone on GitHub reported that as fixing it even though they already had the latest .net

 

Sorry for the issue. Hard to solve with what I've got to test on and not likely not going to have time to do much more today.

Toggle Radio Overly stopped working for me after the last update (1.2.8.0). I do not see the overlay anywhere on my screen and I don't see the second program icon in the taskbar. It appears that it is not launching at all.

 

The AWACS overlay works fine.

Hmm thats not good that the .Net installation isn't working. What error are you getting? Might be worth trying the online installer rather than the offline one instead.

Both, Please try the version attached. Managed to get back a little early. I've switched the system I use to output audio.

 

Double check your Speaker assignment before pressing preview as the order of the items in that box may have changed with the alternative output.

 

It'll work against any server running 1.2.8.0 fine but I've not changed the version number or you won't be able to connect to them otherwise

Can you try the reset overlay button at the bottom of settings and then see if it appears? Can you also try turning the Hide Overlay Taskbar Item on and off with a reset each time. Try also turning off Auto refocus DCS.

 

Feel free to also try the one attached as well.

Argghhh, I cannot instal .net 4.6.2 seems I am stuck on 4.5.2 I will keep trying but even using windows updates it fails.
