Cruiser18
I'm having trouble with getting to bind keybinds with my Virpil MT-50 throttle. SRS simply doesn't allow me to bind keys to it anymore, despite being able to do that in previous versions. I took a look at the clientlog and I found this of particular interest: 2019-08-03 15:58:44.2042 | Ciribob.DCS.SimpleRadio.Standalone.Client.Input.InputDeviceManager | Found Device ID:6f1d2b60-d5a0-11cf-bfc7-444553540000 Mouse Usage: Undefined Type: Mouse 2019-08-03 15:58:44.2042 | Ciribob.DCS.SimpleRadio.Standalone.Client.Input.InputDeviceManager | Adding Device ID:6f1d2b60-d5a0-11cf-bfc7-444553540000 Mouse 2019-08-03 15:58:44.2042 | Ciribob.DCS.SimpleRadio.Standalone.Client.Input.InputDeviceManager | Found Device ID:6f1d2b61-d5a0-11cf-bfc7-444553540000 Keyboard Usage: Undefined Type: Keyboard 2019-08-03 15:58:44.2042 | Ciribob.DCS.SimpleRadio.Standalone.Client.Input.InputDeviceManager | Adding Device ID:6f1d2b61-d5a0-11cf-bfc7-444553540000 Keyboard 2019-08-03 15:58:44.2152 | Ciribob.DCS.SimpleRadio.Standalone.Client.Input.InputDeviceManager | Found Device ID:204903eb-0000-0000-0000-504944564944 VPC WarBRD Stick Usage: Generic Type: Joystick 2019-08-03 15:58:44.2152 | Ciribob.DCS.SimpleRadio.Standalone.Client.Input.InputDeviceManager | Adding ID:204903eb-0000-0000-0000-504944564944 VPC WarBRD Stick 2019-08-03 15:58:44.2152 | Ciribob.DCS.SimpleRadio.Standalone.Client.Input.InputDeviceManager | Found Device ID:014024f0-0000-0000-0000-504944564944 System Control Usage: Generic Type: Device 2019-08-03 15:58:44.2152 | Ciribob.DCS.SimpleRadio.Standalone.Client.Input.InputDeviceManager | Found Device ID:204703eb-0000-0000-0000-504944564944 VPC MT-50 Throttle Usage: Generic Type: Supplemental 2019-08-03 15:58:44.2152 | Ciribob.DCS.SimpleRadio.Standalone.Client.Input.InputDeviceManager | Found Device ID:014024f0-0000-0000-0000-504944564944 System Control Usage: Consumer Type: Device 2019-08-03 15:58:44.2152 | Ciribob.DCS.SimpleRadio.Standalone.Client.Input.InputDeviceManager | Found Device ID:12601038-0000-0000-0000-504944564944 SteelSeries Arctis 7 Usage: Consumer Type: Device 2019-08-03 15:58:44.2152 | Ciribob.DCS.SimpleRadio.Standalone.Client.Input.InputDeviceManager | Found Device ID:12601038-0000-0000-0000-504944564944 SteelSeries Arctis 7 Usage: -189 Type: Device 2019-08-03 15:58:44.2152 | Ciribob.DCS.SimpleRadio.Standalone.Client.Input.InputDeviceManager | Found Device ID:2e271e7d-0000-0000-0000-504944564944 ROCCAT Kone Aimo Usage: Consumer Type: Device 2019-08-03 15:58:44.2152 | Ciribob.DCS.SimpleRadio.Standalone.Client.Input.InputDeviceManager | Found Device ID:2e271e7d-0000-0000-0000-504944564944 ROCCAT Kone Aimo Usage: Generic Type: Device 2019-08-03 15:58:44.2152 | Ciribob.DCS.SimpleRadio.Standalone.Client.Input.InputDeviceManager | Found Device ID:508106a3-0000-0000-0000-504944564944 Programmable Hotkeys Usage: Consumer Type: Device 2019-08-03 15:58:44.2152 | Ciribob.DCS.SimpleRadio.Standalone.Client.Input.InputDeviceManager | Found Device ID:2e271e7d-0000-0000-0000-504944564944 ROCCAT Kone Aimo Usage: Ordinal Type: Device 2019-08-03 15:58:44.2152 | Ciribob.DCS.SimpleRadio.Standalone.Client.Input.InputDeviceManager | Found Device ID:18720b05-0000-0000-0000-504944564944 AURA LED Controller Usage: 255 Type: Device 2019-08-03 15:58:44.2152 | Ciribob.DCS.SimpleRadio.Standalone.Client.Input.InputDeviceManager | Found Device ID:2e271e7d-0000-0000-0000-504944564944 ROCCAT Kone Aimo Usage: Telephony Type: Device Apparently, the Virpil Throttle does not get a "Adding device" service like my Virpil joystick does. Cruiser18
Okay, I fixed the issue myself. I went over the source code and found that the program on startup will check for a "whitelist.txt" file where peripherals GUID's are stored. By default it seems this file does not exist. The source code does contain a GUID for the virpil stick and virpil throttle, but the throttle GUID was not correct. In short, all I did was make a "whitelist.txt" file in the SRS standalone directory and put the GUID for my Virpil throttle in it that I saw in the log file, in this case "204703eb-0000-0000-0000-504944564944". Now SRS recognizes my virpil throttle again and I can assign buttons to it. I did not find any mentions of the whole whitelist.txt file anywhere in the documentation, so I thought I should throw it in here for anyone else that might experience the same problem. Caput_58
Would you ever consider adding plane based configuration files? What I want for triggering radio 1 and 2 in the Tomcat is different than what I want in the Hornet. Likewise, I'd like the outputs to be for different ears between the two. It's only a little thing, but you've pretty much already added every other feature I could think of. This continues to be the best mod for improving DCS. Thanks for all your work. sobe
I was just thinking the same thing as Caput 58. I was configuring my new Trackhat for 2 different modules and it says both configurations. I then went to SRS and realized that I had to override the keys for the F18 with the new keys for the A10. It would be nice to have separate ini files for each plane. Trackir4 using the latest Trackir 5 software, Win10 Pro [Creator Update] updated from Win7Pro Pro 64Bit, Intel® Core™ i5-2500 3.30 GHz 6M Intel Smart Cache LGA115 , GigaByte GA-Z68XP-UD4 Intel Z68 Chipset DDR3 16GB Ram, GTX MSI Gaming 1060 [6 GB] Video Card, Main Monitor 1 on left 1920x1080 Touchscreen Monitor 2 on right 1920x1080 . Yurgon
Would you ever consider adding plane based configuration files? You can save different configuration files and start SRS using any of them via a command line argument: Setup the settings as you want them for each aircraft, and rename the client.cfg appropriately. Then use the "-cfg=" flag to load the appropriate one. It doesn't switch the config while in-game, but a quick SRS restart would do the job when switching from one module to another. sobe
OK. I understand what you wrote about config files, but I do not understand how to do it your way. For now, I simply made 2 config files, one for each module and swap the files depending on the module that I am using. Trackir4 using the latest Trackir 5 software, Win10 Pro [Creator Update] updated from Win7Pro Pro 64Bit, Intel® Core™ i5-2500 3.30 GHz 6M Intel Smart Cache LGA115 , GigaByte GA-Z68XP-UD4 Intel Z68 Chipset DDR3 16GB Ram, GTX MSI Gaming 1060 [6 GB] Video Card, Main Monitor 1 on left 1920x1080 Touchscreen Monitor 2 on right 1920x1080 . Yurgon
I understand what you wrote about config files, but I do not understand how to do it your way. You can pass arguments to the SRS launcher shortcut. Assuming you launch SRS via a shortcut, just create a copy of this shortcut, right click on it, hit "Properties" and adjust the "Target" to include the path to your config file. In my case, with a config file by the name of "foo-client.cfg" in SRS' installation directory, my shortcut target is: "C:\Program Files\DCS-SimpleRadio-Standalone\SR-ClientRadio.exe" -cfg=foo-client.cfg You can have as many shortcuts as you like; just create one shortcut per config file and you should be good to go.
Harlikwin
So dumb question. I have 2 different input devices I want to use to key SRS since I use them to fly different planes. iChasney
I'm having a very weird issue. It's like SRS doesn't properly detect the MiG-19. My buddy who hosts the server and SRS doesn't seem to have the issue but when I jump into the MiG-19 I get a default FC3 3 radios setup, locked to 124.800, 251.000 and 30.000, see the screen grab. I have no problem with any other module. It doesn't seem to be map specific. I've tried reinstalling SRS and re-configuring from scratch, also removing and reinstalling the MiG-19 module and finally running a repair on DCS itself. I use Voice Attack and have reinstalled that too but the issue still occurs even when VA is not running. Has anyone experienced this before? With the MiG-19 or any other module? Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I'm left scratching my head on this one. iChasney
I've resolved my issue, thought I would post what I did here incase anyone is having the same issue. I removed SRS completed, kept my config but then went hunting through all the scripts folders and cleaned everything out from my Save Games\Scripts and SRS stuff in the main DCS\Scripts folder. Performed a full install of 1.6.1 again and this got round the problem I was having with the FC3 radio channels, I guess something didn't update correctly last time I updated SRS. That said it still didn't work, I noticed that the SRS volume was 0% and changing the volume on the MiG-19 Radio panel didn't change it, although it definitely did something as I could hear ATC. So I had a poke about in the SRS lua file (DCS-SimpleRadioStandalone) in both the SRS folder and the one in my Save games, it looks like one is a copy of the other. I found a line that looked like it was taking the volume to use in SRS from the volume knob position. So I commented out line 1357: _data.radios[2].volume = SR.getRadioVolume(0, 329,{0.0,1.0},false) and replaced it with: _data.radios[2].volume = 1.0 This forced it to go to 100% and all was well from there, happy MiG-19 flying with my friends. I hope that helps I'm sure the issue will get sorted in the future but this workaround at least gets you flying and talking.
Arekushi
Hello, just a question. Is there any way to tweak the radio distortion of SRS ? It's too distorted in my opinion. Many videos of Military/Civilian communications are available and almost none are as distorted. It's especially annoying for Pilot-RIO interactions. Thanks,

Oh-Zee
Push to Talk not working I have reinstalled SRS after some conflicts with Voice attack. Now after the install I can't get my push to talk to work and voice attack doesn't seem to respond either. Is there a certain order to install these two ? Is it possible the script files are the problem ? When I installed voice attack with the Viacom plug in, it wasn't working. Their solution was to delete the export file and that worked until I installed SRS. I have posted on the SRS discord and got no help. Here are my settings, any help would be great.
