I recently returned to flying the Warthog after about a month off thanks to that pesky "real world". When I started trying to get back to using the TGP, I found myself unable to make it SOI using my TM Warthog, and am at a loss. I did not have this issue prior to my hiatus, and am hoping to get it resolved with a long weekend of potential flight time ahead of me.

The coolie hat is functioning properly, as I'm able to select either MFCD SOI (as long as I've got the TAD or other screens there) as well as the HUD, but I can't get the Maverick or TGP to be SOI. I've tried this on the ground with and without engines running, low altitude, high altitude, various stores configurations/TGP locations, as well as cycling the power to the controls and restarting the computer/simulator.

Does anyone have any ideas? I've tried searching but haven't had much luck finding any similar issues (maybe I'm just not using the right terms...)

If anyone has some ideas I'm hoping to hear them!

Thanks in advance.

Weird, never heard of this problem.

Which version of DCS World do you currently use?

Also, just to be sure: Let's say you have the TGP selected in the right hand MFCD, can you make it SOI by pressing the TGP OSB on the right MFCD?

And you can't set the TGP as SOI by pushing Coolie Hat right long?

Is there maybe some kind of software like TARGET interfering with the button presses? Can you check in some kind of joystick analyzer that keeping the button pushed gets correctly recognized?

I've got 1.5.3 running right now.

I can't make the TGP SOI by any clicking or key combo, nor does it work by going right long (or left long) with the coolie hat.

The hat is functioning properly in test mode, and I can get other screens (TAD, DSMS, etc) SOI on either of the MFCDs using a right/left long command depending on location.

I am not using TARGET or any other external program for the profile.

I just tried and have no problems.

In that case I'd try a DCS Repair (deactivate all mods first, if you have any).

Next I'd delete (or rename) my Saved Games\DCS folder and see if that changed anything - if not, just rename it back and all settings and key assignments will be restored.

If that doesn't work, I'd probably perform a complete re-installation.

If that doesn't work, I'm out of ideas. :music_whistling: ;)

Maybe the Coolie Hat Right switch is mapped to two or more functions... maybe that could prevent a Long press recognition?

I'd have thought so as well, but if I understand captmjk16 correctly, the problem is specific to the TGP, but not to the Coolie Hat, seeing as he says he can set SPI to all other sensors.

captmjk16, did you try a repair yet?

Please also let us know if (and how) you solved your problem so that others know what to look out for in case they have the same problem.

To make TGP SOI it needs to be active, using the MFD soft key on top row of the right MFD, either A-G or A-A, not just switched on with the toggle switch...maybe that's the problem ?

Thanks for all the ideas/suggestions guys! Tic-Tac eventually got it (and now I feel dumb), as I should have known better. All that time looking at mappings, and trying to reprogram the controls and it was a simple switchology error... Oh well, I guess that's what I get for leaving my Hawg sitting abandoned for a month!
