Can't bind UI interface to keyboard

Hi,

 

In 1.5.4 release version, I tried binding the left mouse button and right mouse button to my keyboard. However, I am not allowed to select the keyboard in the options - controls menu.

 

Every column in the control menu works; the throttle, the stick, rudder, etc. When I double click the trottle column on the left mouse button row, for example, I can bind the left mouse button to any control on my throttle.

 

But not so for the keyboard column. Clicking on the keyboard column to assign a specific function to it does not work in the UI interface menu. The window to select a key to bind to that function does not open.

I think it is intentional, the UI interface was implemented for VR user so they could bind these inputs to their controllers, negating the need to use the keyboard or mouse.

Well it's a problem for me. I bought a cheap numpad and put it next to my throttle. Then I used hot glue and small bolts to write my own 'braille' on it so I can recognise the keys with my rift on. I actually did all this in anticipation of the feature where you can bind mouseclicks to other controls.

 

Even tough the warthog throttle has those fuel and engine switches that are rarely ever used, and which would seem like good candidates to bind to mouse clicks, those switches are nigh impossible to reach when the throttle is pushed too far forward.

 

So if it's not a lot of trouble... please allow the mousefunctions to be tied to the keyboard.

You can add your own.

 

go to DCS World\Config\Input\UiLayer

 

copy the joystick folder and paste, rename it to keyboard

 

start DCS you should now be able to map your keys.
