Isegrim
Iam more unhappy about the BUG itself then anything else. not about Newy not about ED Just because this is the by far most stupid BUG ever in my own opinion since 7 years iam in DCS. last1976
NO its a Steering wheel and Pedals and i use the Pedals for the rudder in DCS. -If i disconnect it before Starting DCS i have no Pedals -If i reconnect it while DCS is running the Proplem will be there again Pedals are essential especialy for Helicopters. SORRY but one week after the last Patch this BUG still exists and the last thing i want to hear things like # Q: Hi i have a Proplem with my grafics in DCS can you help me. A: Yes disconnect the Monitor and you are OK. # Thats just a stupid example but ..........nahhh A pretty angry and unhappy ISE  100% agreeing. But try to start unconnected with pedals and wait until youre sitting in cockpit, then reconnect Pedals, since last patch this works for me. Still pretty annoying but a possible workaround, but you have to do it everytime youre changing cockpit or go back to main menu. to be clear, i every case you have to restart DCS unplugged from device. It is not working from Main Menu to Ingame. Art-J
Uh.... Oh... So I've finally managed to do some flying after the latest update... and found out the Alt-J trick no longer works either :/. Errrr..... I knew the bug itself wasn't fixed, but I didn't expect the update would break the last remaining workaround as well. Certainly not going to dive under the desk to unplug/plug PSU for my wheel, get it out of the box, wait for it to recalibrate and put in back into the box before every mission to see if it helps. i7 9700K @ stock speed, single GTX1070, 32 gigs of RAM, TH Warthog, MFG Crosswind, Win10. Isegrim
I tried the tricky disconnect reconnect trickytrick with my Logitech steering wheel. -Started DCS (unconnected SW) -Going into a mission (SU-25T in this situation) -Flying a short time with the SW disconnectet and voila Trim works but for sure no rudder -Connectet the SW and voila i got rudders but cant Trim -Disconnectet th SW again *Simulator shows TRACKIR Disconnectet or something like that* #! And no i didnt touch the TRACKIR or even is it close to the USB port of the SW. -reconnectet the SW (TRACKIR was still off) -DCS has stopped working EDIT: Oh and SW here stands for SteeringWheel :) ISE "Blyat Naaaaa" - Izlom
last1976
For me it worked in the first place. After some longer flights I have to say, this "workaround" isnt stable for me. It seems that after some undefined time, trimming stops working. I really hope we dont have to wait long for the fix, and for the future I suggest ED to stop pulling out patches on release which havent gone through a basic qualitiy control and Beta testing. Why we are running DCS on 3 versions, if their arent used for that purpose ? i7-6700K / Msi Z170 Board / Kingston 32GB DDR4 / Msi GeForce GTX 980 4G / BQ STRAIGHT POWER 10 CM 700W / Fractal Define R5 Black / Alpenföhn "Brocken 2" / Samsung m2 980 Pro 1TB/ WD Blue 2TB / Windows 10 Pro
ED Team BIGNEWY Posted July 17, 2016 ED Team Share Posted July 17, 2016 Hopefully it wont be to long. Like I have said in other posts I don't have FFB so could not test or look for a work around. Just to play devils advocate, if this bug is a problematic one that is taking longer to fix, and percentage wise only effects a smaller amount of users, and other bigger bugs which were fixed could be rolled out to users without delay, would it be worth delaying all of those fixes as well? I dont have any insight to the process, just wanted to make that point. Forum rules - DCS Crashing? last1976
...., and percentage wise only effects a smaller amount of users...... Even if this is true, which I highly doubt because there are many users who are using steering wheel pedals. Some because of financial reasons, some for practical reasons (like me) etc. For me right now it isnt the problem that the bug exists. For me the Problem is that it has made its way through to release version. This is the really annoying part for me. If a patch / version etc. isnt ready for release, just dont release. And maybe it would be better to reconcentrate on quality and developing models everyone is now waiting for years instead of pulling out a new model every month. Until now I ve purchased every module, that came out. But if this policy continue I never will again, because free times are to rare to waste them with stuff that is not working. i7-6700K / Msi Z170 Board / Kingston 32GB DDR4 / Msi GeForce GTX 980 4G / BQ STRAIGHT POWER 10 CM 700W / Fractal Define R5 Black / Alpenföhn "Brocken 2" / Samsung m2 980 Pro 1TB/ WD Blue 2TB / Windows 10 Pro

monkie
I would hope the dev's would not consider a bug which renders the aircraft unflyable as a minor one. It might affect only a small portion of the players but for those it affects it's a complete sim breaker. It's worrisome it's taking such a long time to lock this down though. I don't have a choice in the controller I use, I need a small gamepad type controller because I travel for a living, and it happens to be FFB. For now I am holding off on updating to the 7/15 update and using Alt-J to at least continue to fly. Huesudo
Same problem here. I have a Logitech G940 but I don't use the force feedback in DCS because it messes up axis deadzones and curves, and since 1.5.4 came out, I can't trim any aircraft of any kind. :( The only solution atm is to enable force feedback and try to fly with a hyper sensitive stick. bwRavencl
Still not fixed with today's update... :dontgetit: I'm a software developer myself and it really can't be that hard to simply completely disable the FFB device capability detection routine until this issue gets sorted out. That way people with FFB devices could at least play the game, even if this would cause FFB functionality to be completely unavailable in the meantime. Phaser
Just chiming in with the same issue. Trim DOA on all aircraft. I have a Logitech G27 wheel and pedals. I wonder if I could use a DB-9 to USB breakout cable to bypass the wheel entirely and just run the pedals? Regardless, I hope this bug gets squashes ASAP. I own all modules + Nevada and can't really play any of it w/o pedals.
Art-J
^ Does it affect all modules on Your PC? On mine MiG-21, Bf-109 and Fw-190 are still OK, Mustang is half-OK (rudder trim works, remaining ones don't), the rest of AC I own (Korea birds, Mi-8 and L-39) are fubar'ed.
