How to compensate for camera angle in Opentrack?

Recommended Posts

My camera is situated at the base of my monitor so the yaw interpretation is a bit "skewed" in Opentrack. With Facetracknoir, I've found that I can just about correct for this "angle distortion" by adjusting the camera pitch by 30-35 degrees.

My question is, how do I accomplish this same adjustment using Opentrack? I assume it has to do with either Options --> Center Offset or Center Pose Effect but after fiddling with all of the values, I can't seem to get it set up properly. I'm confused by what I should be trying to adjust in Opentrack.

Here's an image describing the issue:

And a short gif that demonstrates what the issue is, note the roll and pitch that creeps in approaching the limits of a roughly level head turn:

Thank you for the help, I appreciate any insights you can offer!

Setting Camera Offset (https://github.com/opentrack/opentrack/wiki/choosing-camera-offset)

1. disable "center on startup" in options

2. start tracking

3. adjust camera offset until game data yaw/pitch/roll says zero, zero, zero

4. you can reenable "center on startup" now

Worked for me, hope it does the trick for you :)

Awesome, that did the trick! I kept centering first with the keyboard shortcut rather than manually zeroing as you described. Thank you!
