Hosting doesn't work (no one seems my server) - Why?

Hey guys,

Got a bit of an issue. I can play a mission on a friend's server (private, public, doesn't matter).

However, if I run the same mission from my server (i host), no one seems my hosted server.

I suppose its a router issue, but i have absolutely no idea what. I play lots of games, and have zero issues in multiplayer.

Here's the info i suppose is relevant:

Router: Apple Airport Extreme (tower)

Internet connection: Cable, 30/10 (plenty fast).

Computer: win10, Ethernet cable.

Reference ping: Aerobatic server, i get 20ping.

When playing with friends, i get between 10 and 20.

Any particular router settings i should look out for?

Thanks for the help.

Its more than likely that you do not have the port forwarded from your router to your PC. When your router receives the network traffic from the remotely connected player it needs to know where to send it. This is done by logging into your router and configuring it.

NOTE: Not all routers can do this. Some, especially ones that are provided by ISPs are heavily locked down.

Here is a link that should give you a bit of insight on how to do it.

Look for "portforwarding" in your Apple router.

You need several ports being handed over from the router to your server hosting DCS.

Use this thread as a guideline on how this works and what ports and protocols you need:
