carss Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Just last sunday I discovered and downloaded the War Thunder assistant app for my Android phone and I absolutely loved it. It keeps track of your in game progress, let's you know which of your friends are playing the game and even allows you to message them. It even shows news from War Thunder, has it's own internet radio and even allows you to buy those golden eagles from within the app. Now I was just thinking, what if we had a DCS assistant app just like this? Here you can check the latest TFC-ED newsletter updates, access the E-store and buy addons from within the app itself, even access the forums. This one can also have an internet radio, however in this case I think we should have multiple genres, stuff in which we can have music like action instrumental, the kind of music that plays in history channel's dogfights programs, then rock for regular rock music, pop, instumental etc for different moods of flying if people like. Another thing we can add is the encyclopedia. Even in the War Thunder there is something called "vehicle" which is basically the encyclopedia showing us all the in game vehicles. I think maybe we could do something similar in this too, and if possible maybe even ability to display low res/high res models in the encyclopedia. What are your views guys? I thought of this and thought it was too good not to share :music_whistling:  [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Planes: FC3, P-51, F-86, F-5E, Mirage 2000, F/A-18, F-14, F-16, Mig-19P :joystick: ED pls gib A-4 and F-4
QuiGon Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 (edited) I would prefer ED puts their resources into the game itself rather than in such toys, that don't really offer anything valuable IMHO. - You can access the forums on your smart phone just fine without such an app. - You can just subscribe to the newsletter and you will get notified by email when there are news (or just check in on the news thread every friday). - Why would you need to buy modules from an app on your phone? You can't install them from there anyways. - And why should ED provide music? That's not at all part of their business. Sorry, but it doesn't sound like a good idea at all to me. :noexpression: Edited September 2, 2016 by QuiGon 1 Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!

Jarlerus Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 This idea could be viable once DCS reaches the same levels of players as War Thunder. Before that, it's unfortunately a waste of time/money. :/ Jarl at YouTube DCS Service Span and Wishlist Spreadsheet Forum post for discussion of above spreadsheet Retro Electro Playlist on Spotify

QuiGon Posted September 2, 2016 Posted September 2, 2016 Hope this doesn't sound bad, but why doesn't ED or Ubisoft put some amount into advertising for this game? Ubisoft has nothing to do with this game. Advertising costs money. Just look at Games like Call of Duty r GTA, where most of the money is getting spend on advertising. Imagine how much better a game could be if all this money would be spend on the game itself. Intel i7-12700K @ 8x5GHz+4x3.8GHz + 32 GB DDR5 RAM + Nvidia Geforce RTX 2080 (8 GB VRAM) + M.2 SSD + Windows 10 64Bit DCS Panavia Tornado (IDS) really needs to be a thing!

Hmm ok, but what about keeping a small amount aside just for this, and maybe we can do online ads like War Thunder does? We also have the potential to create some really amazing videos, so we can do that and create YouTube ads too?
