Will DCS be compatible with DirectX 11.1?

Recommended Posts

Myself as well as many others are using Win 10 with no problems. You may want to head to the correct subforums for some better help. Check the DCS World section.

Stay away from the 400 Series, they are old, power hungry, over heating prone, etc.

Go for the 1000 Series..

Windows 10 Pro, Ryzen 2700X @ 4.6Ghz, 32GB DDR4-3200 GSkill (F4-3200C16D-16GTZR x2),

ASRock X470 Taichi Ultimate, XFX RX6800XT Merc 310 (RX-68XTALFD9)

@JokerFace140

Have you tried the DCS repair function?

nIVIDIA GeForce GTS 250 is a DirectX 10 Graphics Card.

Which should be fine, since DCS is only using DX10?

Nope, it's 11 and requires compatible card to run (at least in normal circumstances without some hacking mumbo-jumbo :) )

Damn, time flys. EDGE was the upgrade from DX10 to DX11, wasn't it? And DX12 is already out there (although not for DCS). I just thought that EDGE was DX9 -> DX10 for some reason. :music_whistling:

Wasn't it from DX9 to 11... that might be why you remembered it wrong.

Now I'm really confused :D

Edit: Just did a quicks earch through the forums. Looks like you're right. That's probably why I was confused. :music_whistling:

I have recently updated my pc to Windows 10 and it has DirectX 11.1 installed and I can´t start the game. It says that DCS is broken and I´ll be contected when there´s a solution. So is there any chance taht I can play again? :helpsmilie:

Try uninstalling DCS and reinstalling it. It sounds to me like something is corrupted. And make sure you are using the latest graphics drivers, of course.

Good luck!
